Hi,

I can no longer get Exaile to run, the led light flickers a little but nothing happens. I've tried changing over the PND, and I'm pretty sure it wasn;t working before i flashed (so I've tried a reflash). What else could it be?

thankyouplease :D

yep, thats where I'm keeping all of them as the desktop can get cluttered pretty quickly

Hmm, I'm not sure then. I haven't tried Exaile on my pandora yet. Let me go see if it works on mine....brb

It seems to work on mine OK. Other than re-downloading I don't know what to suggest. Sometimes I go to open an app or folder and it doesn't do anything, just get a little flicker from the LED and thats it. Then I will try again and it works.... Sorry I can't be of more help.

Try deleting the Exaile-folder from the appdata-directory (I think it's called exaile.pickle)
Maybe there's some wrong setting that prevents it from loading.

If you want to help us debug, you can also zip that directory up and send it to me :)

Glad to help, will zip and send when I get in from work. Then I'll delete the appdata-directory, I should've thought of that myself, doh!

I've had the same problem, and removing the settings folder hasn't helped.

Same issue here. Deleted settings, re-downloaded it; moved it to app, menu, mmenu, desktop and none have worked.

Can anyone post the output of the /tmp_/pndrunexaile.pickle.out ?

(you can copy it to your SD Card or at least look for the error and post it here)

some non-specific problems here too - removing and replacing the SD card seems to have worked. It also got a bit confused about where the music collection was mounted when I only had a single SD installed. Currently working though, without changing anything.

Both the versions from the appstore and the download archive work now. No idea why, maybe something in Hotfix 2?

Exail runs okay for me (hotfix #2 + codec pack.)

Rememberm Exail cannot run without both a hotfix + codec pack. Missing one of them and no go.

For me, the problem seems to be state dependant, didn't work for a while, tried it later and it did. I'm starting to wonder if there is some issue with the SD cards not mounting reliably which is causing this problem, and it maybe isn't Exaile specific. I can confirm standby/wake does work as a 'pause' though.

Theres a few things you can do to confuse the SDs or Exaile; ie: eject/insert them while something is holding on.

But if you do a fresh boot, Exail works, then it stops working, then it starts working, and you've not ejected SD cards, thats a little odd. Have you been using/unusing USB widgets?

So I just got a crash. Many instances in the log of

mmap() failed: Cannot allocate memory

which were not fatal. then
/usr/pandora/scripts/pnd_run.sh: line 62: 3071 Segmentation fault LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/mnt/utmp/$BASENAME ./$EXENAME $ARGUMENTS
app exited
rmdir: failed to remove `/mnt/utmp/exaile.pickle': Device or resource busy

Ah, maybe out of RAM then; very _very_ few applications are written to handle out of RAM; almost every app is 'if out of ram -> holy shit, crash now!'

I wonder, if you turned on swap on SD, if it'd be okay then; ie: how tight is Exaile on ram when running?

I´m quite happy to set up one SD as permanantly instaled - what are the runes to enable a swap file?
