I have no idea how to load channels.conf in VLC.

Opened it as a normal playlist.

I just wanted to add that Me-TV on the Pandora does not work very well. It" pretty heavy and doesn't find channels. I only managed to make full use of my Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T after creating a channels.conf (did this under Slackware on the Pandora by the way, but i does not matter where you get yours from) and loading it in VLC (Media -> Open File). Searching for channels with VLC also gave no results, so a channels.conf is a must!
You could still try it to see if it recognizes your stick though:
Media -> Open Capture Device
Capture Mode -> DVB
select your DVB type and press the Play button
It should start searching (but will probably not find anything) or report an error.

Which firmware file are you using? dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw?

Strange... Was trying to get my dvb-t to work, I had installed all the drivers and it registered fine a few weeks back in dmesg.

Today I finally sat down to generate a channel.conf and test with vlc and I kept getting the attached errors in dmesg.

Literally the only thing that had changed between a few weeks ago and today was the install of android (for that sweet Netflix goodness) which should have no effect (firmware is on nand).

A couple reboots later along with turning USB host on and off and it worked in dmesg, generating Conf files, and in vlc...

Very strange.

Side note does tv-out work with this? Cause that would be awesome... and probably the only way I'll use this.

It's giving timeout errors, meaning the hardware stops responding. Maybe it's trying to draw too much power from the USB port and when the battery is not full there is not enough supply.

That could be.. I was at 50 something percent. But I didn't recharge between it not working and then working. I'll keep an eye on it next time though

Battery life isn't an issue. If the device attached to USB port draws too much current It will cause the USB Host to stop working. This is a standard protection measure, you will need to use a powered USB 2.0 Hub most likely. In the case of the Pandora if the USB Host crashes, a reboot may be required to get it running again, or well some command line thing I'd prob have to research myself.

Its also working great if you use vlc media player on PC to create a playlist whit the right frequenciys and then play it on Pandora VLC whit a DVBT Stick who is supported..
But as i ditnt watch much tv, i dotnt used it much..

By the way: thes haubbauge Stick got a Antenna whit a magnetic stand,
How do i made it portable??

the Hauppauge stick is working for me very fine with MeTV in SZ. You just have to do a channel search; no conf needed. In Slackware I use Kaffeine (KDE needed) or mplayer/SMPlayer. For the magnetic antenna I use an iron pill/cookie box which gives better reception.

Me TV ditnt work for me..,
But whit the Iron "Pill" Box, this could be a great idea, i have some lying around from my Mint sweets, i just have to try if this realy is magnetic..

Are you using SZ 1.72?

You are right, MeTV is no longer working since SZ 1.7x so you have to use other programs. As I am using Slackware that doesn't support MeTV I mostly use SMPlayer
or Kaffeine (has EPG). A tool called w_scan searches for the channels and makes the config files for most of the programs.

After my success with the dvb-t,I decided to take the plunge and gab an atsc tuner for use at home in the US. I know not all are supported in linux so I checked out linuxtv.org to ensure compatibility and selected the kworld UB435q V3. All versions are supposed to be supported as of kernel 3.16, and since we are on 3.2 there should be no issues...

But of course that isn't the case. Here is the dmesg:

Uname -a returns 3.2.78

Further research suggests lgdt3305 MAY work for it. I'll test.

If that fails I'll try and compile. Do I need code blocks? Any refs for compiling for the Pandora?

Don't forget that In terms of Version numbering 3.2 is lower than 3.16. (That's a separator, not a decimal point)

-Neelix

Oh efffffff

Really? I have been thinking decimal for years.

Oh well, should work out of the box on my Rpi hooked up to my tv
