It is? Hm, then that was my mistake, I thought I read that somewhere... maybe it was the cases, not the moulds.
Glads I'm not the only one who misremembers reading something somewhere :D

Ever considered paying that factory a visit?
that would be extremely rude imo. Imagine MWeston going all the way to China to tell them how to do their job, and once he gets there, they're already done with the cases!
I know it wasn't your idea, but I'm just saying.

Well, we're hoping for the best. We should be able to make this last step!

Should?
That expression is hard to translate from german. It's subtile, resignative and powerful at the same time. Read it as a sure bet, like the room-time-continuum would collapse if it won't happen.

I guess the German word for "room" and "space" are the same?

Not really, not if that's the way their society works. Different culture and all. From my very rudimentary understanding, I'm pretty sure that having "the boss" oversee operations is supposed to be some kind of... ego boost or something?
Like, North America office politics basically go "if boss is around, it's because he doesn't trust me". Chinese business politics seem to be "boss is around because he is genuinely interested, and concerned about operations, so I must do what it takes to make it all work".
Or so I got from the Doing Business In China links that floated around not too long ago. Take with a grain of salt, wouldn't be the first time I totally misunderstood something.

The molds cost way, way more than $20k and that doesn't even factor in the several keymat and A/V cable molds. Wow, maybe if it was only $20k we could have just told them to F off and went somewhere else. Unfortunately we must stay in bed with the devil we know.

In bed with the devil sounds like a rolling stone album or a tenacious D song :p

Chill.

I went to sleep before MWeston corrected ED.

Had a business meeting in Nuremburg, waiting for the train back. Grabbed a chinese fortune cookie... "Everything you do now makes profit"...

It's ok, the Chinese are back on our side :)
Well, he told us about what the cookie said, so now he's jinxed...

Well, in truth, fortune cookies are a Western invention. What does that mean, I wonder? :p
