Just found out about this game.

I have to get one! My anti-Sony stance has gone right out the window now, thanks SEGA. Thanks a lot. But it does look like the best game in the world ever since... Astro Boy?

It won't be out for a while I'm guessing, could always pick up a 2nd-hand one in GameStation/Ca$h Converters or whatever. Bye bye money.

This is just whoring the franchise. In fact, every Sonic game after the 16bit era did just that...

If it ain't broke don't fix it :p

The game sounds like a Sonic-y version of Dashin' Desperados, methinks. Played it? Think it has another name under another guise, but it's basically two guys running towards their shared girlfriend, and they can smack each other about to get to her first. Whoever gets there last has to be the 3rd wheel in the bed or something. Great MegaDrive-y fun.

Looks to me like shitty reviews will soon follow the release.
Ya. Sega is doing really bad lately. Shadow the hedgehog blew, this is going to blow, the Wii Sonic is going to blow. The only sonic game they did right in a while was Sonic Rush.

I think Sonic Advance 2 was superb. I think they very successfully brought old school Sonic and his new abilities together really well. Haven't played Sonic Rush, but I really want to.
Sonic Advance 2 was pretty good, but Rush was the most amazing sonic game Ive ever played.

Don't flame the Wii Sonic. Have u actually played it yet PSyMastR? I doubt it and well i havent either but if impressions are to go by everything i've read has said it played well and was a welcome return to the days or yore and not another crappy 3d version with dodgy controls and cameras. Wait and see cause i reckon Sonic Wild Fire on Wii will be getting good scores.
As for Sonic Rivals, 'tis not looking good. Sega should have done what made Sonic Rush such a hit and kept it 2d but mixed in pseudo 3d for the characters. That would have been better.

I think 2-1/2D Sonic is a wonderful idea, but I'm not so sure about this rival idea. Why can't it just be a 2-1/2D Sonic adventure (not Sonic Adventure.. just a normal adventure with Sonic..)? I'm holding out hope it'll be good though.

By the way, I got Sonic Rush today. :D Great game so far, but I was kind of surprised how difficult the first boss was. Darn that rolling attack!

All I know is the Sonic related games that have been released since his Genesis days have been rather hit or miss, and there's been a fair share of whiffs.

Great not another bloody racing game for the psp.

Sonic should be left as a 2D platformer they seem to be the better ones.

All fair points indeed...

Guess I'll just wait and see. They'll have it running in the shops probably. Just for the record, there hasn't been a single Sonic game I've not enjoyed, besides that weird one on the Game Gear with the pseudo-3D sprites - haven't played Shadow either

I'm hopeful for the PS3 Sonic game because it will apparently feature only Sonic.

Yeah, and Sega is hoping to 'reinvent the franchise' and call it just plain, "Sonic: The Hedgehog". I'm sorry, but there's only one Sonic: The Hedgehog, and it had pre-rendered 16-bit graphics and a pretty sleek looking main character.

Something about that really... Pisses me off. The fact that companies are being active in forgetting their past. '"NEW" Super Mario' to me screams, "Well, we fucked up on the first few, so here's a newer, prettier one for you babies to suck on. Who wants to play that old crap, anyway?" And the same goes for the new Sonic for PS3.

The Sonic formula works best in 2D, the best attempt by Sonic Team so far in 3D is SA2.

my 2 (10) cent.
