Hi folks

Some one has ported this CPS2 Emulator to the Caanoo
http://cafe.naver.com/zorg/13388

Any chance that some one knows how to disable the cache. The Caanoo has enough ram not to have a cache and I do not really want to make my SD card have a short life

Thanks heaps
Jake

sorry to hijack your thread but talking of cache how do you make these files ?

Because every game i try comes up in red and won't play! i just get the cps2 emulator crashing saying amongst other things...

Error: unsupported cache file

thanks for any help

On subject there is an option in the cps2 emulator to enable/disable full cache! not sure if it completely disables it or not

Yer, I have been using cps2conv_all.bat (I had another converter that made .cp2 rather than .cache), shows blue in the emu, but still gives me a cache error, have not managed to get anything working as yet.

Also if I try to turn of the cache in the options the emu just hangs.

Anybody got this working??

hehe no problem Paul, you need to use the Romcns tools from the WIZ version of the emulator and copy the file it makes to the cache folder.

Hopefully soon will not need cache folders murdering our SD cards

PS: it works you need to look at gameslist in docs

hey cheers for the reply :)

Any chance of a link to Romcns ? i can't find it! dohhh lol

sure
Copy the Folder called Romcnv from (WIZ version)
http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/wiz.cgi?0,0,0,0,71,36
and place it anywhere on your computer and use romcnv.exe
then copy the file it creates to the cache folder on your SD card :)

Are you sure the cache files hurt your SD cards? If they're just generated once per-game then it shouldn't be a big deal. It doesn't matter if they're read all the time, reads don't degrade SD life.

I don't see why it would be anything else. CPS2 has large ROMs, not large RAM.

Hi guys I can't get cps2 games to run. I have created a cache file and placed it in the cache folder. When I attempt to boot the game, it kind of recognises it but doesn't load up. It stays stuck on 0%. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks BTW I have updated the firmware to 1.06, I am not sure if this has any bearing on it.

Look here, in the Wiz or Caanoo download section, you have a CPS2pack with roms ans the cache files, it works great.
