I've been browsing around looking for an answer to this, but it's still unclear to me. The question is this: What kind of emulator support does the Caanoo have? Does everything that runs on the Wiz also work for the Caanoo, or what? I'm particularly interested in SNES and GameBoy emulators. Thanks!

Most of them haven't been ported yet. Caanoo just came out and not a lot of people have them, and the developers who do haven't had them for long prior to release.

Caanoo is not compatible with Wiz.

none of software made for wiz can run on caanoo

emu for caanoo can be found here: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/caanoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,5

How long is it anticipated to take before the emulators start rolling in?

I don't know, but if GINGE for Caanoo is done then you'll be able to use that to play the GP2X and Wiz emulators.

Yes GINGE would be a nice thing to get going on the Caanoo, there are loads of interesting game on the gp2x and wiz that could be played without having to be ported/recompiled. I want to try Sqdef for example,. .
