Class 10 16GB sdhd card

http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?product_id=53927&tid=gsearch

With VAT and delivery it comes in at a shade of £28 which I think is quite good.

I've never heard of storage options before but I've been using the sd card intensively as a boot device all day and a scan disk has reported no problems - so with luck it will stay that wau ;)

My purchases from yesterday:

http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDHC/SanDisk/SanDisk-16GB-SD-Card-(SDHC)---Class-4

(If you really want class 10, go here: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDHC/Transcend/Transcend-16GB-SD-Card-(SDHC)---Class-10 )

And two of these, that were cheaper yesterday (£7 mark):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/TS8GSDHC10-Transcend-Secure-Digital-High-Capacity/dp/B0043WKZHO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1295129159&sr=8-2

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002WE6D44/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=computers&psc=1 <-- 8GB Transcend Class 10 £7.75 delivered.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002WE4HE2/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=computers&psc=1 <-- 16GB Transcend Class 10 £17.99 delivered.

BOOM!

I was going to go for that class 10 16GB, but honestly, if you use a class 4 to store ROMs, it doesn't really matter. You don't need a fast card for ROM storage, so I don't think people should feel they should go for all class 10. Use class 10 for the card you'll put software on, and other data that's frequently accessed.

good luck using CRAP like transcend SD cards - they are notoriously bad! sometimes it really is worth paying that little extra! plus CCL have always been peerless in terms of customer service over the years.

I only went the class 10 route as its for a boot device.

Yea I wish I'd never bought any of the 6 or 7 transcend cards that I have over the last 10 years. They've had no problmes what so ever and were about 30% cheaper than the other options. Man do I feel ripped off :(

Personally I wouldn't recommend PNY's cards. I had one (which I purchased from Play.com a couple of years back), and the casing plastic was of such poor quality that it split and shattered after no more than three uses - and I handle my stuff very carefully and gently.

That is cheeeap as chips , and yes unbranded but good seller

Cheers for the link, just ordered one. Seemed to have run out of SD card space pretty quickly since getting into PSX emulation.

I got a Patriot 32 gig class 10 for $55 free shipping, I had gotten a Microcenter (noname store-brand) card before that, used it to take pictures for literally 1 day, and it had formatting errors and wouldn't write anymore afterward. Luckily a friend copied the pictures off the card before they were lost! I think i'm sticking to brand-name stuff from here on out.

alas even brand names are no protection, the same happened to me with a transcend card and within a few months a friend of mine had the same experience with the same brand...

Anyone who's looking for cheap memory should take advantage of the amazon $20 gift card for $10 that living social is doing:
http://livingsocial.com/deals/21336-20-amazon-com-gift-card

I'll prob get this Transcend 32GB Class 10 for what ends up being $42.45

Ordered this last week, it arrived today, passes the Prometheus test (H2testw) with this as the output :

Warning: Only 15271 of 15272 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 11.6 MByte/s
Reading speed: 18.6 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4

Looks like a good value card to me, time to fill it up.
