I dont know if anyone already knows this, but during my telnet session on Caanoo i quit the "gp2xmenu" and started an app. When i quit this app it reloads the "gp2xmenu" and it's calling an ip in Korea.

Is this the drm?

Did you get a Dev unit? Maybe that has something to do with it, trying to monitor what you guys are putting on this thing?

Reverse DNS record for that IP is kns.kornet.net which matches with the forward DNS record for that domain.

Edit: Looks like it's a DNS name server.

I have seen something similar output myself, although i haven't checked if anything is transmitted.

EDIT: And i don't have a dev unit. FW1.0.1

well this could just be some minor thing to test if the internet connection is running fine.

microsoft for example suggests, to check if an internet connection is available to your software, you should make a request to some existing domain/ip. and it seems gph does something similar, as the result is a follow up to WifiCheck()

as long as there is nothing else transmitted (should check with some package logger for example) there's nothing to worry about, IMO.

Yep a dev unit.

I don't think it's an dns server. It's Korea Telecom.

It is most definitely one of KT's DNS nameservers. Perhaps you are thinking I am referring to a root server?
