I was playing soul calibur II today ( )and I noticed that I am more inclined to mash the buttons to obtain some sort of a combo thing, but I know that's not everyones style, so, what are you, a Masher or a Methodical?

I can never be bothered with a fighting game long enough to make me learn the moves.

Button mashing, because learning combos to the point where you can stop other button mashers from beating you takes a lot of effort. During this time you might know loads of great moves but somebody could just beat you by hitting Y over and over.

David, please don't see this as an attack, but you constantly remind everyone of your comic. It's mostly not funny, though I do like the art. Please stop it, it kind of looks as if you're only here to plug your website.

As for the question... I'm a methodical fighter. Mostly. I learn how to use 2 or three characters (usually htos eI like based on the concept, not based on theri fighting style and if it complements my playing style) and play with those, and when I play other characters, it's a controlled mash where I sometimes attempt to use them elegantly.... this was true for Soul Calibur 2, Mortal Kombat: Deception, Capcom vs X-Men, Capcom vs SNK 2 EO.... well, most fighting games actually.

Button masher all the way. The only fighter I know how to play tactically and well is Street Fighter Alpha 2 for PSX/Saturn.

Mostly methodical but if I am losing and I need any big move to save my ass then I am a masher.

I'm the same if your winning try to use flashy moves but as soon as they start winning bash that button.

Just be glad the leaders of the world aren't button bashers or we'd all be in button basher hell :D

Where's the option for I buttonmash the hell out of a game, until I figure out what everything is, then repeat my favorite moves?
