So I would have posted this in the GP2x forum because i don't currently own a Wiz, just my f200, but with the advent of a proper way to network the wiz i think this game to be perfect for an initial "networked game" offering:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolo_%28video_game%29

I grew up playing this one the macs at my various schools, its a multiplayer tank game where you capture bases, defend it with pillboxes (mindless gun turrets that will fire upon anyone not on your team) and mines, harvest trees to build walls, roads and boats while avoiding (or hunting) your fellow players.

There was a Linux port of it that is no longer being developed for, there is Winbolo, a windows clone, and the source is available (ish- its rather out of date now...) at http://code.google.com/p/winbolo/

its a fun time to be had with a relatively simple game, it supports up to 16 players, and there are "bots" for solo play (or to round out a team)

Some complications would be that it's intended to be run with keyboard and mouse, so the touch screen would be necessary for operation (your tank sends out a little green man to collect trees, build walls and roads, and drop mines)

Whatchu think?

I actually know John who was writing Winbolo and Linbolo (in fact, if you look at committers on googlecode, I'm lyghtkruz). I don't know how easy it would be to port over, and you are correct, the mouse functions would all have to be changed to support the touch screen. It's been a while since I've looked at the source, but I think it requires directx. The last time I tried to compile linbolo, I didn't have any luck, but when it was working, I believe it was using an older version of SDL.

If anyone is interested in attempting to port Linbolo over, I can check with my contacts and see if they know which branch of the source was working.
