Blizzards classics for free (The Lost Vikings, Blackthorne, Rock N' Roll Racing)

Wow, there was a PC version of Rock'n'Roll Racing? Or did they make it for this occasion?

I haven't played it, but from the looks of the zip, it's a custom build of zsnes with a custom rom. According to the readme, it's a "lite version" with only 3 tracks.

I have tested Lost Vikings and it works very well. I played the original DOS Version ages ago. Still a fun game. However, the PC version seems to lack of options and only has a black background instead of the colourful parallax BG's of the Console Versions. Any clue if this can be also enabled onto the PC Version?

Err, now there's the catch. Why would they do that? Is RRR on sale somewhere?

Maybe they plan to release the remainder for a payment. Maybe it's some test to see what interest there are for these games, and then they might bring out a paid service for them. Just imagining it being like games from any other online shop "free" but require payments later on.

I can confirm for RRR: it's a stripped down version. You have the start screen, and then the choice of the difficulty settings and then you're on the race. No campaign mode,

And the music has been changed (probably due to licensing issues).

Thus stripping away one of the best things about it. What a move Blizzard. This looks more and more like a marketing thing than actually giving a really old game to fans.
