Battery compartment question

I have just received my Pyrae (black and copper). The black one works as designed, but on the copper one, I can not open the battery compartment lid. Actually, I am not sure how to open it, as it looks differently on the copper Pyra, than on the black one. It also seems that the coating is somehow molten together on some parts of the lid. Attached pictures should be self-explanatory.

I know it is a stupid question, but does anyone have a guidance? I do not want to break the lid by application of too much force...

How much wiggling is acceptable? I'm thinking about damaging the unit to open the lid as it only can shift a little more than 1 mm (and back). To move it a little to the "open", I used a towel and a hammer. But then the problem starts:
The side that is protruding is flimsy, so pulling without damaging the unit is hard. Pushing it, however, makes it bend inwards (as there is no battery yet). I've not tried cold yet (now a comfortable 25 degrees Celcius).
The Stylus is also stuck and requires more force than I'm comfortable with, but it goes out.

Any ideas? WD40? Just use a flat screwdriver?

Edit: Tried unscrewing the underside, but that did not do anything to the base of the battery lid. And before you ask: Yes, I tried to slide it to the left side (towards where the stylus is), which should be the correct side as it does not go the other side.

Edit2: I managed to open it! 2 drops of oil in the holes, and then open a crack, close back, around 10 times, then it was finally open enough to use a knife to use the flatside as a lever to open it up even more, but even then it did not fall out, no... I had to pull it open. These imperfections in the coating are problematic.

Regarding the Pyra battery lid, run your thumb along all the edges of the removed Pyra battery lid and see if you feel any bumps.
Sanding down those bumps with strips of medium hardness emory cloth will make the battery lid tightness issue mostly go away.

Had that tightness issue when I first got my Copper Pyra. Posted about it in here in the forums around January-February 2024ish, if you feel like looking up a more detailed explanation of exactly what I did.
