Australia?

My original FLU and a BLU+
Also a first edition gp2x and f200

Have used the GP32 from time to time both for homebrew games and a bit of PCEngine emulation. But pretty much using the f200 or first edition most of the time. Melbourne here.

Including myself that's three regulars - but I am guessing that there are a few more. And I'm sure this kind of localization thread has been done before.

I'd like to see someone out in public using a GP32/GP2X but I doubt that will ever happen. :)

How could I NOT get a Pandora?

I'm still hoping that the GP32 won't die out completely. I don't think it will as there will always been some die-hard fans that will want to see it kept alive.

I am still undecided on it to be honest. If it ends up being 700 bucks I'll give it a miss. Also I might actually wait until there is fast and stable amiga emulation on it because thats the only thing I would really want in a portable over what the gp2x and psp can already do emulation wise. I preordered the 2x and had a great time with itbut the way the pandora is shaping it up it may be a more costly investment.

Hmm, I mostly use the GP2X for homebrew.

I want a new device to start again. The GP2X was exciting at the start, but now its a little "meh." Actually, if the F200 came out to begin with it would have been a lot more exciting. There were heaps of let downs. fusterations with delays and waiting half a year for a firmware the ignored the real issues.

A competition that was a total mess. I'm sure the craigix and co can do a better job. But we still get the same signs that things are getting massively delayed, and the device already has hardware bottlenecks.

Atleast GPH were paying digisys-?? to dev the OS (very poorly). Craigix will be relaying on his talented few for the first bit and hoping that the community will improve the OS and produce the software.

That's a risk, because we can see where Open2X is after 2 years.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that GPH screwed up a lot, and they only got away with it because there was nothing else like it. Pandora is a good oppurtunity to start again, but that doesn't keep it immune from GPH style fsck-ups. At this point, I would imagine it would be prone to that. So I admire you for having the patients to wait. :)

You mean nearly complete? The only reason we don't have a release now is because I have had a lot of school work and exams lately. Oh, and the pesky module loading problem too :D. And to be fair, we've only actually been working on an entirely new firmware for about a year.

Hey Orkie,

I wasn't trying to critisize. Just outlining the risks and why it might pay to wait a bit if you're uncertain.

I'm still a hugh supporter of Open2X and appriciate everything that you do for the community in your free time. Godo luck with the exams. I hope you already have a dev kit or atleast get one of the first 100.
