The Atari800 emulator does them all.MrPepper posted on Mar 24 2007 at 06:24 PM said:Are there any Atari 2600, Atari 5200 & Atari 7800 emulators out there? I looked on the archive and I couldnt find any. Did I miss them somewhere?

Select the system/amount of memory you want to emulate from the main menu in the emulator.
It works great
Yah, 1088XE and 5200 and all the XE and XL's apparently (130/320/576 600XL OS/a and OS/B).telengard posted on Mar 24 2007 at 08:01 PM said:I can't remember if Atari800 does the 7800 but gp2xmess does. I also do not think it does the 2600 unless it has changed. Stella is a good choice for the Atari 2600. Atari800 from what I remember does all of the 800/XL/XE series as well as the 5200 (which is very similar to an 800 supposedly).

Theres a very good Atari VCS (2600) emulator on page 4 of the emulators - VCS 2600

I’ve only been only familiar with the 3 systems that I wrote in the original post, the 2600, 5200 and the 7800. The Atari 800 emulator doesn’t mention any of the 3 systems that I had heard of in the title or in the written description. So how would I know what it plays? The gp2xmess only contains one of the systems I wanted and I don’t really want the other emulators that are included. As for “Stella v2.2r1” that also doesn’t mention the 3 systems I had known of and doesn’t even include the word “Atari” in the title or the description. So how would I know what the hell it even plays? Yeah, there are some videos on youtube that show emulators being played. What is easier, asking a simple question on a forum, or filing through 382 videos for over 80 different emulators for game systems I don’t even want to know about?
You're right, many of the descriptions in the archive are very poor and assume that everyone knows what the program is. This makes it very confusing for newbies.MrPepper said:First off, I’ve never even played an Atari game system before. That's a great question. I did the gp2xmess development and I never thought to try that. Given the speed of 7800 emulation (not 100% speed, more like 75% most games) Stella or the other 2600 emulator would probably be a better bet.Yrx said:I haven't tried it, so I'm just going to be lazy and ask if it's possible to use 2600 games with the 7800 emulation on Mess. I know my real life 7800 plays 2600 games. Does it have like both systems in there or something?
