Finally it's here to show you: My new Giga Pandora with new reworked R2/L2 buttons.

That's version 1 on my CC Pandora:

Here's the link to the old thread:http://boards.openpa...skarus-version/

Those buttons were a great addition to my Pandora.

That's at least what I thought.

They work as 2 shoulder buttons for some camera actions, but that's it.

They are not nice to press. When I hold my Pandora normally I can't reach them, even with my big hands.

My hands have to leave theire original position to press them.

That's bad for every game.

Forsaken for PSX is still not playable, other action games as well.

It's simply little better than having R2/L2 on the keyboard.

But that's past.

Here is the completely reworked version:

ASKARUS MOD V. 2

Now they are perfect shoulder buttons.

I reworked took some original shoulder buttons and removed everything that was not needed.

I cut the housing, the lightpipes and that housing hor the microphone.

That's the result:

They look like real shoulder buttons, are perfectly handy and great to use.

As I use some original shoulder buttons they go around the edge.

That's the best improvement.

Those are not to miss any more.

My hands can reach them out of any position they can reach the original shoulder buttons.

No danger to press both buttons accidently.

It's so great to play now.

Forsaken is still not playable, not because of the buttons but because of me. It's dammit hard. to play :D .

Of course I also made a new QWERTZ keyboard layout:

Now I finally can play some nice PSX games without restrictions.

Notaz, where is your high res update.

I don't want to play PSX with great controlls but no great resolution.

Come one man, you can do it :) .

I added some more pictures.

They are not verry nicely but show my Pandora.

Maybe I'll get new ones and update later.

I hope this shows all developers that it's definitly not impossible to get 4 nicely working shoulder buttons inside a handheld.

Please, Pandora 2, get 4 shoulder buttons or again at least some space on the board to put them :D .

I wanted to offer this upgrade for everyone but it's to much effort for me to do this.

After making a secone Pandora housing I realized that it's verry hard to do it, even if I know what to do.

Also I study in Eichstätt and can't cut Pandooras in my room there. It's verry dirty (not the room by default but after cutting Pandora housings :D ).

I'd rather put my efforts in helping EvilDragon and repairing your Pandoras :) .

Thanks everyone for watching/reading .

Subscribe whatever you want :D .

Congrats, that's awesome !!!

Next time, take pictures of the process ;^).

very nice mate, very nice!

I love this mod, I always thought for some of my fav PS games like Tekken and G-Police etc, the additional L2/R2 were needed.

I also hope the Pandora2 incorporates this.

Nicely done. Looks nice and professional. I think everyone would likes the shoulder buttons. They need to be included in the mold.

Awesome, i have to mod my 1gHz maybe with self printed parts:)

But at the Moment i have to get my second 3D Printer done:)

Great to hear you like it.

Congrats, that's awesome !!!

It's pretty much the same than it's on the old version.

The process is real pain.

I smashed 7 housings untill I got a well working one.

It's work less than a millimeter and that with bare hands on some plastic.

I'm so happy that I never have to do this again (hopefully).

Nice!  I guess, in games, you have to remap the original L1R1 to be L2R2 and vice versa so they feel more intuitive because right now they are reverse.  How did you cut the case?  Laser?  Kitchen knife?  :D
