Apple hits paydirt, but won't manufacture here

Apple are massively profitable. Why do they have problems training & employing Americans?

Apple can manufacture anywhere they want, it's call capitalism. They certainly don't 'owe' anything to the US, the only reason it comes up is because of the presently higher unemployment here.

Two reasons: Unions and cut-throat capitalism. On a side note, I fail to see why no one ever opposes apple, they are one of the worst at hyper capitalism.

Their hardware is all done in china mostly. Cheaper work force, but the money has to stay there, apple has to buy what is manufactured there, it is not a simple ´move cargo´ from company to company. They are finishing a factory here in brasil too, probably to make the stamp hehe or some little piece of ipads so they can enter brasil market without having to be taxed on their products(ipad in case). Brasil has the highest apple price in the world, no wonders peole around ´invented´ the hackintosh...

That is exactly what I think, why should apple have to give jobs to americans?

Capitalism is amoral, the human toll is not accounted for on a profit/loss statement or quarterly earnings report.

Considering one in 4 US children depends on food stamps to eat. It is no wonder Con-gress and the Supreme Court are bought and paid for. Lobbying for tax loopholes has Microsoft, Apple, and Google throwing money at firms like WIN America collectively. While kids collect food stamps.

The people who give out foodstamps. Same people who make drones, guns, missles, etc.

If corporations are stacked with cash and need tax breaks to create jobs, I can't help but wonder what they are waiting for.

Why is this a question?

Apple is "highly profitable" because is since the 1980s they've pursued a strategy that focuses on minimizing costs to them, while maximizing the price to the consumer primarily through marketing focused efforts. They are the only proprietary company to have survived the implosion due to the fact they never got involved in Commodore's price war as much as anything else.

That is exactly what I think, why should apple have to give jobs to americans?
Because it's the special people company.

Yep, sure amoral, but that is no news, and we live and strive on that exact world.

A good thing is to present a solution, and most of us sure can do so.

But that dosen´t mean these solutions get online and going.

Either we can be iconoclasts or in-conformists on such... anthropological discussions tend to get nowhere anyway but only to rage anthropocentrism.

Living within the capitalism, we usually have to be able to care for our owns (friends and family) before we can do anything for others.

I have seen people who spend 10k$ on their pets per month and they are are sure of what they are doing. :(
