android kitkat could work on Pandora?

Wow... this is the first version of Android I'm actually excited about!

... Hopefully some intrepid soul will make a custom rom I can flash to my aging HTC Sensation and so deal with it's biggest issue - lack of ram.

... With Apps to SD, it's still a very capable phone (even has a better gpu than my Note 8.0)... with kitkat running on it, I could see myself using that phone for years to come.

Still not going to help me on the Pandora front - I have a CC.

Sell it and get a 1 Ghz :)
Sell my baby? *sniff sniff*

.... I'll think about it... Though I would prefer to do a trade in with ED - she needs a little TLC, and I would want any new Pandora owner to have the best experience possible.

Or keep it as a downloader in your house. That's how I use my Rebirth sometimes. Does not consume much power, completely silent, and I can let it run overnight this way. Or better, use it as a mail server or whatever you see fit, and use the 1ghz for everything else :)

^ At the moment, she's responsible for bringing music to my shop. I have the speakers plugged in to mains, but the Pandora runs off battery (I plug her in when I close up shop).

She's discrete, so pretty much invisible - but I can alter playlists with the same ease I would on a bulky laptop.

It seems a shame she's being used for such a mundane task - but I have so little time for gaming these days, my Note 8.0 is the more convenient device for a couple of minutes of light entertainment and general productivity (reference images, note taking, checking forums, internet, telephone).

The bottom line is I have no better alternative for a music player right now.

I probably will get a 1Ghz one day... but there is so much I have to pay for first, it'll probably be a good long while.

what kind of shop do you have?
It's called 'Monkey's Wedding'.

I make home made gourmet Ice Cream.

Import clothing from India.

And hand paint clothing in UV reactive colours as well as phosphor, invisible blue, metallic, and then of course also the full range of Rainbow colours.

As well as crafting various other items.

Sounds quite a funky shop you have there.

Wonder how KitKat will work on my old Xperia Play then..

I always imagined you as someone that rather creates (add something to the world) than just consumes stuff.

Same here. ^^ Are there pictures of your shop anywhere?

OnTopic: Maybe this would be interesting for Edora/P"/DragonBox too?

If it really is as slim as they say, 256MB won't be enough, but 256M and a 256MB swap file might make it useable. You're not going to be playing the latest and greatest games, but I'm sure there's a lot of stuff that would work well.I'm just hoping Cyanogenmod is able to do their thing, I'd love to upgrade my phone.

That's why I'm here!  ^_^

Not yet. I'm not even properly open yet. They finished putting the back panel on my second hand Ice-Cream display fridge yesterday, so I'm going to leave it chilling overnight before I put the Ice Cream in... will probably have a bit of trial and error getting the temperature right (Must not melt, but can't freeze tooo hard either otherwise it's a bugger to serve).

Also haven't had a chance to mount the Blacklight above my hand-painted shop sign yet... I painted the entire white space around the letters with phosphor - so with the UV constantly charging it at night it should look completely amazing (well I hope so).

Will probably have the official opening mid-november. I'll take pics then (will have more stock by that time as well).

Hmm, are you using a USB network dongle? I've found that the nework here to be rather unreliable, and not just when using my Pandy either.

Well, AFAIK, they're converting over to a commercial model, so presumably it's going to depend upon there being sufficient interest to make it profitable. Rather than sufficient interest by a developer to do the actual porting.

Good news.. about time they started working on slimming down this major RAM hog.
