Alternate Cpu Tweak Utility?

anyone know of any other cpu tweakers other than the one that also does lcd?

since when using the lcd tweaker to overclock it tends to make the screen flicker on return to menu where as when youve been overclocking via built in overclock functions and such the screen stays untouched

The screen flickers due to the LCD timing changing with the CPU Clock generator. That's not the fault of the program. You can adjust your LCD with the program too, to get rid of that problem. Try the options besides the CPU clock and use the Test picture to find settings that work for you. Personally, I leave them alone because my LCD looks fine at any clock above 166 MHz, and the scanlining isn't apparent in all applications (probably why you THINK it isn't there when using 'built-in overclocking').

If your system returns to the menu, the program has crashed and you've overclocked too far, or your batteries are low and making the system unstable.

p.s. PLEASE separate your post into more than one sentence and use punctuation. It's almost impossible to tell what you are saying. I'm not even sure I read it correctly.

what i ment was

when overclocking when using the lcd tweaker and you exit a game (not return from crash and such though it still happens there) there is noticable flicker

where as emulators which built in overclocking just change the cpu settings and dont touch the lcd or do not appear to anyway

so i was wondering if there was a utility available to just clock the cpu and leave the lcd alone

since with the lcd tweaker your forced to enter a value for the lcd which tends to cause the flicker when you go back to the menu

Now all we need is punctuation!

The overclocking application *does* leave the LCD alone, its just that the timings are often bad for the new clock speed (AFAIK). I'm guessing the inbuilt overclocking also modifies the LCD to a preset value.

I have scripts written, they rely on the LCD/CPU Tweaker utility however

Unless you mean that there is another way to overclock directly via scripting.

You can specify the settings of the LCD clock generator in a script. Try using the UPLL for the LCD clock; I have always liked it better, and I believe changing the CPU clock has less of an affect on scanlines when using UPLL.

Also, you made the mistake of having a comma splice in this sentence. It can be fixed with a semicolon.

Or, if you prefer, you may split it into two sentences.

You might also need a comma before however, but I'm not sure, and I don't want to start sounding pretentious.

use wanx it is a menu replacement that has a built in cpu/lcd tweak and since it uses its own menu the settings stay. I would recommend not installing it as it bricked my gp2x that way but if you just run the gpe file it works fine.
