A simple way to display an image in CLI mode ?


I think an image to ascii converter would do it's best. There must have been software which could do that with movies long ago too. That's real cool retro. :)


Close you eyes to razor-sharp slots for best results.

you can just use one of the framebuffers. fbi is framebuffer image viewer which source you can look at.

you could use sdlsplash to show a pics for a few seconds, you can use i in your runscript, Ive tried it


and works great.

Argh !


I wanted to display an image during boot.


Unfortunately, fbi complains against there is no virtual terminal yet.


It seems to only work when logged in :/
