Why do I see three processes for my game in ps? I don't do any fork()s.
I'm using Paeryn's SDL, is that making more processes?

I have not looked at this on the machine but older non-kernel thread versions of linux just create another process for each active thread. This is the way it is/was prior to kernel threads.

Indeed.
IIRC, if you use sound with SDL, it create a thread to handle it.
So you have your main thread, the sound thread, and a last one that manage them.
