    I Just Got My Gp2x!!!

I've had my "275Mhz" GP2X version for about a week now. I have to say it's sweet! It's a much better experience then the GP32, IMO. I sold off the GP32's (I owned three different versions) because most of the emulators were very poor, and abandoned by the authors after version 0.01. The...

    Cpu/lcd/ram Tweaker Version 2.0

    Just to follow up after doing testing on a MK2 unit. Here my timings for my 280MHz overclocking: CAS 2 -> 2 OK tRC 8 -> 6 OK (5 stable at 200Mhz) tRAS 16 -> 1 OK tWR 3 -> 1 OK tMRD 8 -> 1 OK tRFC 8 -> 1 OK tRP 8 -> 2 OK tRCD 8 -> 2 OK Refresh Period: 257 -> 467 OK tRC, tRAS, and Refresh...

    Emulators Speed Up Hack

Should this type of thing really be done in the emulator or game? Some units won't be able to handle these settings, while others can do even better-- for example my Mk 2 unit can take --trc 5 --tras 1 stable! :P I suggest just let people tweak their ram timings at boot using CPU/LCD/RAM...

    Cpu/lcd/ram Tweaker Version 2.0

Ah! Exiting tweaker was the missing step. Thanks G_A_H. I'll get to testing right away! :)

    Cpu/lcd/ram Tweaker Version 2.0

Hmm, well I don't think think most of the memory settings are doing anything. I can run both CPU tests (both prime and ant) at the following settings up to 290Mhz stable. Things get strange at 295MHz: CAS 2 (default) tRC 8 -> 1 tRAS 16 -> 1 tWR 3 -> 1 tMRD 8 -> 1 tRFC 8 -> 1 tRP 8 -> 1 tRCD 8...

    Emulators?

What are you ranting about? Most of the emus are unfinished at this time (thus, the beta <v1.0 numbering). Some are closer to v1.0 than others.

    Battery type

No, no. ALL rechargable (NiCd and NiMH) cells are 1.2v! That is normal and they work just fine. <_<

    Emulators?

Almost all the emus are "rough" to one degree or the other. However, most get the job done, even if a little crude. If you can't find the emus, you haven't looked at all. Try the "downloads" sections of both this web site, and gp32emu.com. There are dozens of emus listed on either site.

GP32 Game of Year for 2003

    Wow, we found one! :D

    GP32 Scene going crazy

I just hope these ports actually get completed. I'm concerned that most of the GP32 emus will be stuck in at the v.01 and v.02 beta half-done state that we have now. With things like the Zodi, many of your core developers may migrate to that, and never finish their current GP32 projects. Hope...

Changing my os to mr spivs multi firmware

Except there are some programs that won't start under Pacrom, meanig you still have to have Free Launcher for these few programs.

    long filename support possible?

Bingo. Something I thought would be obvious. :P Try searching through a few thousand Atari 2600 ROMs, using the current Atari 2600 emus.

    long filename support possible?

Sure. The most recent Good2600 GoodTools added over 1000 new entities! Using the GoodTools DB works, but I'd much rather see LFN support through the use of ZIP files, as I mentioned in the previous reply. Cleaner, and works better.

    long filename support possible?

Hmmm, you might be right. I haven't played with my GP32 in the last couple of months (I'm on a ROM D/Ling marathon right now, almost done.) I thought at least one of them has true LFN support. Ahhh, maybe I am thinking of LFN support via ZIPped ROMs? I.e., the emulator uses the LFN of the ROM...

    long filename support possible?

What's the point of implementing the GoodTools database, when some of the other emulators already offer long filename support!? LFN support is do-able now. Renaming roms to 8.3 is not practical for anyone that regularly rotates the ROMs they play. Also, GoodTools databases gets outdated when...

system show down what is the best system?

Atari 2600. Always will be the best. After all the pong consoles of the day, the 2600 was amazing. And back then, game carts were inexpensive too!

    Modding business

I had the whole switch break loose from the case (i.e. the epoxy didn't hold.) I had to go in, and glue it back on to the case with Krazy Glue. Fine now.

    What are roms

Just wondering, is it OK to tslk sbout ROM tools, like GoodTools or ROM Manager, and where to get them?

    renaming gp32 games and icons

Yes you can. You have to get the FXE > BIN tool, to convert the file back to raw icon and bin files. Then use the BIN > FXE tool to recompress the binary back to FXE, with icon and new "name". Don't ask me where to get the tools, but they are out there, on one of the GP32 utility home pages...
