Reading tags is in the realm of MPD. I'm not 100% sure at this point, but I think it uses libmp3tag for mp3s. Had some issues with getting tags from AAC files at one point, but don't recall issues with mp3s. It might not like the version of libmp3tag available on the Caanoo...unfortunately...

I think that's probably just MPD trying different methods of volume control. As long as you have sound and can adjust volume, I wouldn't worry about it.

Actually those are two different state files. I would expect .mpdstate to be created by MPD on first run if it's not there. Does the file still not exists after running the program for the first time?

Good deal. Okay, couple questions. What revision of the code is the caanoo port based on? The version listed in the archive link is 0.4.3. Latest gp2x/wiz code should be in tags/v0_4_6final. From looking at what I think is an earlier build for the caanoo, it seemed like it might have had...

Hmmm, I do believe that is a problem. Grab the file out of the wiz archive and see what happens. http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/wiz.cgi?0,0,0,0,6,184 And we'll need to get sebt3 to update the caanoo port if we verify this is indeed the problem... ***EDIT*** Wrong link

Cool, I think that might be helpful. The song information is stored in a sqlite database file named songdb. It looks like something is wrong with that. I made the (probably poor) decision to not actually create the database structure in code and instead provide a default songdb file that...

    Ommpc

I'm guessing there is some song in your library either ommpc or mpd doesn't like for some reason(unexpected characters in title or tags). There is a file mpd.conf that defines the location of an mpd log file and mpd error file, you could check those and see if they contain clues to the issue...

    Ommpc

I haven't been on the forums in a while, but it's nice to check in and see ommpc living on. I'm apparently a little late this time, but anybody can feel free to drop me a line if there are any questions I can answer about the program in general or about the code. And thanks, sebt3, for...

Where Are The Homebrew Games ?

I'm out of the scene now, so a little late to the party but thought I would address a couple comments... Feedback that database has been updated is provided in the Library section. There is a message that the database is updating that goes away when it's done. It's mpd so everything is...

    My Pandora On The 'bay

    Release Ommpc 0.5.3

I've updated mpdscribble in the latest ommpc where it should work correclty if the timezone is set correctly as described a coupe times in your other thread. Download from here.

    The Pandora And Time.

Yep, I believe that will do it ED. After making the change and getting the date/time set correctly the date command and desktop are still reporting the correct time, and both Audacious and an unmodified mpdscribble are able to scrobble with the correct time according my testing. Confirmation...

    The Pandora And Time.

Hmm, I didn't realize HF4 actually gave us the full /usr/share/zoneinfo folder... Previous to HF4 I had copied that info over manually and scrobbling worked when setting the timezone as sebt describes... Unfortunately setting it correctly now breaks my change to mpdscribble. But as your...

    Release Ommpc 0.5.3

Let me know what you find. I haven't really thought too hard about daylight saving time/summer time as I wasn't thinking there were any options of the sort in the date/time UI... I'm in US Central time, so choose GMT-6 which is what the 'date' command reports back for me...and this is...

    Release Ommpc 0.5.3

Well, it's been awhile, but I finally have a new version of OMMPC ready. Figured I would go ahead and cross post over here also. For the completely uninitiated, OMMPC is One More MPD Client. So at it's core is a front end for the Music Player Daemon(MPD). However, for the supported portable...

    Release Ommpc 0.5.3

Missed the edit... Yes, mpdscribbler caches until you get back online...Don't know how much it will cache...might be in some doc somewhere. But I did try it for a couple of songs and it reported them when I connected back... Yep, you should be able to just throw the new pnd file in there...

    Release Ommpc 0.5.3

Well, it's been awhile, but I finally have a new version of OMMPC ready. Removed OMMPC's ability to change the cpu speed. Not working out in the multitasking environment. Changes to settings screen to put paths at top to make it clear they need set at first launch. Also validate path before...

    Release Ommpc V0.5.2

Ah I don't really go up to that level for the "folder level" addition of songs do I. I'll have to add that and the shuffle album to my ever growing to do list. I agree with the queuing, it's a hack and the only way we can get mpd to play it next is to shift it in the playlist. Never use it...
