Okay, so the mem card save did work with PCSX4All and I did manage to play a little further. However, PCSX4All seems to break when using summons so it's not much better that PCSX Rearmed.
I guess I just have to face the fact that FF7 cannot reliably be played on the Wiz :(
Hi all.
I have been playing though FF7 via PCSX Rearmed r18 and it has been fine for 9 or so hours. However, now I am experiencing reboots during some battles and it's breaking the game for me. An example would be the snake in the river (yes, I know I am too weak atm to defeat it - I am just...
I *think* I've fixed it. Tried using SCPH7502 bios instead of SCPH1001 and it seems to be okay. Need to do more extensive testing before I can say for sure though.
Oh, and for what it's worth I also discovered it was when fighting that big, yellow flying thing that it would always crash.
The problem is there is no crash 'part' so to speak - the Wiz resets itself randomly after battles on the world map. Battles during designated areas are fine.
Could this be a RAM issue?
I'm using r18 on my Wiz and I'm finding that the emulator crashes causing a reboot when playing FF7. The game was fine until I played the RTS minigame up that mountain and now I get crashes during battles on the world map.
Any ideas?
Bit late to the party I guess but in case you ever decide to resume work on this, here is the save state:

Any hope of an update at some point? Version 1.80 broke SVP (Virtua Racing) and Japanese MCD compatibility so it would be nice to have these in addition to 32X/SMS support.
Runs like a charm, thanks!!
Why has this not been mentioned in the news forum and/or uploaded to the archive? 'Tis a wonderful addition to the Wiz's library.
There is definitely a speed increase. Moonwalker now runs perfectly overclocked to 800mhz and with frameskip set to 1. Could never get it running smoothly before.
Been playing through FF7 again (I will finish it this time!) and I'm on floor 68 or so of the Shinra building and experiencing frequent crashes. Any ideas? The game has been fine thus far. Oh, and it's a US NTSC rip if that makes any difference.
With regards to the Wiz rattling, it's the battery hitting against the battery cover. Just use a small screwdriver to remove the battery cover and place a spacer between the battery and the battery cover (I used a small piece of folded card), and your Wiz should feel much more solid.
If you're trying to run the Jp version, Japanese support is broken in the latest version of Picodrive. If this is the case try reverting to a previous version of Picodrive or using a PAL or US image.
