OK, but a use case is not the same as a purpose.
A use case identifies the step by step process and the stakeholder(s). It's by careful analysis that you identify where areas need improvement.
So for instance:
Stakeholders: Students of computer science
Process:

In the engineering biz, people identify "use cases" to justify new designs, meaning specific ways that a design will be used and useful in the real world. Use cases are not invented excuses -- they have to identify real value to real people.
If there's no use case, or only a few, no action...
You're asking engineers to put in 100's of hours so that you personally can enjoy a PSP clone?
What's the point? Just buy a PSP.
If imitating successful designs is going to be the plan, might as well make an iPad clone.
There has to be a very good reason to put forth all that effort...
