The story of how to bring back _ and : on Debian 12 Bookworm (Download provided)

I have made a minor modification to the pyra layout. It is not required to update however it makes the file more robust. Updated file is attached to the first post. Changelog: Added line: key <POWR> { [ XF86PowerOff ] }; Reason: This line is redundant and covered by inet already...

    Pandora still in repair

I 100% agree. This should not have happened and you should have gotten back your Pandora many months ago. I guess all what people want to say is that ED has no intention too scam you. This i clearly a mistake that has happened by bad incidents happening and coming together. Also I agree that...

    Pandora still in repair

I am sorry to insist on this, but for cases like this, where clearly something went wrong, there is a phone number (link above) you can call. You are by no means forced to use any third party application or service. ED does answer his phone (when he hears it and no loud machinery is running)...

    Pandora still in repair

No, you do not have to use a third party service. You can find a real telephone number here: https://dragonbox.de/en/content/legal-info.html ED answers to that at regular business hours (11:30-18:00 Europe time). If he does not answer, just try half an hour later. If you do not even want to own...

    Pandora still in repair

There is also the option to PM on the forums. It's just that the shop is not the same any more as it was 5-10 years ago. ED has even more mails to answer an stuff to manage.

    GOG.com

Taking into account how the last 2 years of GOG Galaxy updates went, Ido not have high hopes. There is so much potential, People asking about obvious features vocally and they get ignorerd/. GOG has potential to gain a bit more relevance if they really tried. Not saying that they will...

I have seen that and also tried ":0" Thanks for the hints @PowerGod and @pimaster I will try that. No idea. I'd have to try that at some point. You might need to loadkeys us or something if your external keyboard dies not work

The story of how to bring back _ and : on Debian 12 Bookworm (Download provided)

Update: I spent quite a bit of time trying to get solution (2) to work. So I tried to make a systemd service that reloads the pyra symbols manually after xorg got initialized. Can this even work? I dpecified DISPLAY=0 but still the log says that it can not find the display. So can anyone help...

The story of how to bring back _ and : on Debian 12 Bookworm (Download provided)

Ah, right. Anyways, I remember that someone said that DBPs are broken, too on Bookworm. So checking this IS on my list ;) I will not touch the audio system, since there are already people at it who have more experience than I do with such subjects ;) Believe me, there is enough for me to do to...

The story of how to bring back _ and : on Debian 12 Bookworm (Download provided)

DBPs are one of the lesser things I care about. I will probably not use that at all, or very little at best. After this topic I will focus on debugging LTE and why it is so bad. We need to figure out if this is a hardware or software issue. There are a few things open and DBPs are on my list...

The story of how to bring back _ and : on Debian 12 Bookworm (Download provided)

The long journey of a key press I have finally got to the root of the issue of why _ and : do not work on Bookworm. Since we all want to learn something I did a bit of a writeup about what is going on deep behind layers of key codes and keysyms, and what was the issue and how to fix it. Let's...

    Pyra not booting

You will surely learn a lot. The Pandora was what brought me into Linux :)

    Pyra not booting

Okay, I tested this a bit more. If you press for a split second, then the button will light up bark green. This will not work. Hold for a bit longer until the power button will light up light green/white and the adjacent LEDs light up green. Now release the button and wait. After a few seconds...

New copper cases are finally being assembled

First slide it out to the side. Then when the lid has a bit of an overhang, use that as a grip and pull the lid. That should do it.

    Pyra not booting

hold the ower button for 1-2 seconds. This mechanism was introduced to prevent 'invalid boot' when the Pyra gets plugged in. This is normal. We should make this much more clear I guess. The power button must start blinking. If it does not and is only green, hold the power button (while it's...

    bullseye-5-install, not really

Strange, I followed the instructions above and had no issues resizing. Might be. I switched SD card once because I did not trust my old one.

    Debian 11 can't write underscore symbol "_"

Okay, I finally had some time to investigate this further. The reason why _ and : do work if we do setxbkmap -symbols pyra is because the rule we currently apply at boot goes like this pc+pyra(pyra)+evdev(inet) So when booting the special symbols we define in our pyra file got overwritten by...

[Solved:] Lower right shoulder button not working

Hey, I had quite a few Pyras with defective shoulder buttons. Those got easily fixed by butting some alcohol onto/into it and pressing the button a few times. So if you have contact spray or alcohol at hand, you can easily fix it. Hopefully this is the only case of non-functional shoulder...
