Thanks I'll give that a try. I know what you mean for holding them accountable but I suppose it's a risk you take when you're an early adopter. It's not as if I'm rough with my machines (my GBA SP (silver one) has been used constantly since the launch day. I'll post a message if I can find a way...
Where did you buy your GP2X from? http://www.gp2x.co.uk are good for repairs, just email or phone them and they'll give you an address to send it to. Of course there's a charge but then they tend to be pretty qucik and the price is usually quite good.
My GP2X is a first edition and I've been having problems with it fr a while now. When I upgraded to V2 firmware (currently V2.1.1) I find that when using most programs my machine freezes up randomly and I have to reboot. The only game that hasn't done this is doom <_< . I've tried downloading...
What do you mean you hoped the word 'marketing' would stay away from the community? CraigX runs a business that sells the GP2X and helps publish the games. He dosn't have time to earn a living as a plumber or any other way than through his business. Any business that hopes to make ANY money...
Well if you have house insurance then you can always claim it with that. I'm covered, so if anything happens to my beloved handhelds then I can claim. Thank god my missus works for an insurance broker
Well I'll wait for program updates and see if it makes any difference but it's a shame this has happened as I love playing master system games on the move :(
I'm cheap and use a http://www.game.co.uk DS carry case that my gf got with her DS when she bought it. It has room for a few sd cards (including the plastic cases) and a spare set of batteries :P and obviously the console itself
I'm not happy at all; my machine is a 1st edition which had been running FW 2.0 when I upgraded and now I have alot of problems (and before you ask yeah I upgraded right). AlexKid 0.4 now freezes randomly regardless of the rom I'm playing as does Mame. The Payback demo freezes at random times...
Asking for any kind of Romz on the board is bad. Since Amiga Tech is still on-going they hold the rights to all versions of the operating system and requests like this have given boards bad names in the past. If you don't own an original A500 or you just don't know how to get a rom dump then...
Since you already own a PSP then why bother with another unit unless you're gonna be playing 2 player games? And owning one and not buying the games is just idiotic. Are you one of those people that just want to download everything for free? I can think of a fair number of games I love playing...
Man that sucks, why the hell do these hackers pick on sites like this? They should hit microsofts instead and sell us tickets for front row seats  . But seriously those guy suck donkey b***s
Nah it cost me about £6 for postage (recorded del.) as the first unit I got sent I kind of... blew with a bad adapter :o .They sent me a 2nd unit next day without quibble.
The orange one pictured at the bottom. I'm going to search for a guide when I get home tonight and flash slubs firmware onto my machine and try out some of the stuff I've downloaded. Out of interest will commercial games still work with slubs firmware?
That's what I thought, but when I tried to load the 128mb card with mame on it it just loaded the gamespark software (it dosn't look any different than some of the pics I've seen). Should I try flashing it with a newer firmware? I was looking at Slub realease (GPDRIVE edition) and thought I...
Drum-roll... It's a NLU. Finally came today so I checked it out when I got home from work. It came with 2 SMCS (64mb & 128mb) and a cd with a few progs on it. The 64mb card loads if I switch the machine on with it already in and contains DRMD 4 with some roms (starting with an old gbax splash...
Sue me Geoff and you're wife won't be happy, I won't have the money to buy her all that lingerie she likes to wear :o . As for the George Lucas comparison, now that's just silly. He looks more like Santa Clause... *puts 2 and 2 together* OMFG Geoffstechno is the Anti-Santa!!!
I suppose f it came to that I could try begging  . I have noticed 2 DVDs of software for the GP32 on ebay at the mo for under £5 (including postage) so if the worst happens I could check them out although it might be a little redundant if the progs have to match the serial code...
Love the spelling Geoff you really know you're stuff, like how to build a decent arguement with; visible evidence and with points that don't contradict what you said in earlier posts. And as for your love of all things floppy, how the hell could you fit a floppy drive in your pocket? Especially...
Thanks for all the help, hopeing it'll arrive later before I head to work. From the item decription it could well be one of the last BLU+ units craigx sold before the release of the GP2X. Either way I'll let you know but right now I'm off to try and source some commercial games for it :D
