Been away from the boards for a while, have there been any hints of progress in the last few months?
How are the new cases?
Has production got underway in the new facility?
Had my Steam Deck for a few months now and like most I've been more than happy with the device. It's an emulation powerhouse and gives staggering performance in AAA PC games for a £349 handheld system. SteamOS is pretty slick and seeing lots of updates & tangible improvements but the thing I...
Good call, the suggestion to make the rear port surround a metal blanking plate that could possibly be used for heat dissipation, as well as helping make future revisions easier was made in 2016, I believe this was considered too late for any changes to be made, though AFAIK there was no...
@Hooka : Have you considered declaring bankruptcy? I've no idea whether this would be the right thing for you to do based on the information available, my knowledge of your personal goals or the Canadian system regarding insolvency but according to this article there are many in your situation...
@ Hooka : It's hard to advise without a little deeper understanding of your problem.
Can you put some rough figures on your level of debt & size of monthly repayment and what you'd need to earn to put yourself in a comfortable situation?
What's the area you live in like for employment...
If you are happy to buy from somewhere else then there is some chap called @EvilDragon who sells them from his shop. The price may (or may not) be a little more than via Amazon but you'll get first rate customer support from ED that's for sure.
@BrainSlugs83 : Seems like a generic controller from good old China, the old link I posted appears dead, a quick google found : this one.
No idea if it's any good but the reviews seem favourable....
A couple of bits of information that I'd like to receive :
1) Do you still plan to produce the 2GB units bearing in mind that approx 98% of orders are for 4GB units?
2) Is this idea possible / plausible (for future production runs) in terms of design costs / difficulty of changing the molds?
Thanks @Wally good to hear that progress is being made.
Has there been any official word on whether the 2GB units are going to be produced? Are we at a point where that decision can be made? As mentioned in other threads from a personal perspective I can see pros and cons for whatever course is...
Seems a little odd to me, has there been any word on why they didn't go for 2X4GB in dual channel rather than I presume 3X2GB?
Has a 3GB / 6GB ram Module become a thing?
Hi ED thanks for the update.
Are you any closer on being able to decide whether to produce the 2GB version?
Also wondering if this idea from 2016 is considered practical for any future improvements for case / cooling design : Improving the modularity
Really looking forward to seeing the...

NB : I am basing the following on logic and general experience rather than any expertise or knowledge when it comes to getting an OS to play nicely with hardware. Forgive me if any of the below is obviously wrong / ridiculous to anyone who does know what they are talking about
Also what is the...
My main personal reason against buying a Win2 is that there is no silent mode, to me it's pure design stupidity to not even offer the option of a fanless mode when thermals allow it. That's one area they could certainly improve.
Great news, pretty sure a 2GB limit would have had a negative impact on future Pyra sales and good to know that solving the 4GB issue did not appreciably slow down the project.
Are you still planning on producing the 2GB Pyra? Sorry to spam this question but there are some pretty important...
I imagine the thinking is that the device will be used as a hand held, so when holding it, the right thumb can move the cursor and the left thumb click the buttons.
