Dual Processors, Why Only Use The One?

The 920 has an MMU and 16K of I- and D-Cache. The 940 has no MMU and only 4K of I- and D-Cache.

Apps On The Built-in Flash Memory

As the title says - I'm curious to know what applications people find so vital that they put them onto the on-board memory rather than leaving them on SD cards. Do you have a full 32MB of stuff crammed in? Not use it at all? A select few apps? Inquiring minds want to know ;)

Dual Processors, Why Only Use The One?

Plus it's not a true "dual CPU" configuration, because the two CPUs aren't identical: As far as the OS is concerned, it's a single CPU machine. So where a PC with a dual-core CPU will automatically divide up the workload, the GP2X needs to be told specifically "Send this job to the second processor"

    Even Bob Won't Unbrick :(

If I could get hold of the Linux unbricking software, I'd do it myself. But I can't seem to track the blasted thing down. . .

Well, I did, in the end - hence I wrote that unbricking guide. . .

    Lik-sang.com Closes Down

Actually, it's worse than that: ANY audio file you share gets hit with the 3/3 rule. Even if you record yourself singing karaoke, the 3/3 gets applied if you wirelessly share the file, not just the DRMed files.

    Lik-sang.com Closes Down

Probably true. However, IME, the majority of consumers, when faced with some new technology, do like to ask a resident geek about it. Especially when it's a difficult choice like "What are these new kinds of DVD then? Which one should I buy?" - I know I've already been asked about it a time or...

    Lik-sang.com Closes Down

Thank God for the GP2X ;) You know, I was offered a free PSP two weeks ago. He was surprised when I turned it down. . . Anybody remember the Sony that gave us the Walkman and the CD? How times change. . .

    Lik-sang.com Closes Down

I don't get it. . . all the analyses I've seen about Sony lately agree that they really need the PS3 and Blu-Ray to catch on in a big way. How exactly do they expect this to happen if they sue the people selling their stuff and piss off all the geeks that normal people rely on for their...

    Ok, Weirdest Search Results Ever

I confess to laziness: I was looking on Ebay at GP2X items, and one of them happened to be somebody selling optical disks. I was impressed he had the nerve, and the disk was a pain to get read, but it was quicker than doing a lot of downloading, I suppose. .

Opinion: I Love My Gp32 Blu+, Still Worth Getting Gp2x

Well. . . I must confess, I still use my GP32 more than my GP2X for games. My favourite emulator is the Amstrad CPC, you see, and Pituka is currently still superior to CapriceGP2X. I'm rather fond of a few other games for the GP32 that just haven't made it across to the GP2X yet. On the other...
