    Wma & Mp3 Player Ver 0.37

I know this is gonna sound like I'm whining, but can we attack Ogg Vorbis playback? I've been converting my CD collection to Ogg to replace old MP3s, as Ogg sounds better, and it'd be great to be able to play them on the move without paying £280 for a hard disk MP3 player

    Vib ribbon

It _WOULD_ be possible to write from scratch, IF the GP32 had enough MHz to go around to run a realtime Fast Fourier Transform unit (which is HEAVILY floating point) and threow lots of lines around the screen. And I don't think it is.

    gp32 win95?

windows 95 and 98 use an OCX-based driver model. windows 98 and higher use a DLL or SYS based driver model. simply put, OCXes suck, and it's unlikely you'll ever see an OCX version of the GP32 driver --jo

i'd say WinKawaks ahead of NeoRageX, having used both for many years. --jo

    Mp3 on GP32

22KHz MP3s will play at fast speed, as the integrated player plays all tracks at 44KHz regardless of what the file says to do. Hence 11KHz tracks will play at 4x speed, 48KHz at slower than normal. To be honest, your MP3s should all be 44KHz by default. I use my GP32 to play my tracks (44KHz...

    Worried about GamePark

great n-gage features: *cannot be used on aviation equipment at any time *games can only be changed by going through the nokia battery removal process to find the game slot next to the sim card slot --jo

Howd you find out about the GP32? Older users plz.

i was first shown it at the GameInfinity stand at the ECTS trade show exactly a year ago, by a Gamepark employee who was waving it about and showing the old Doom port. I wrote up about it, and bought one a few months later to play SCUMMVM and Doom-based games

    Dvd encoding

dvdx to produce a coherent AVI or MPEG straight from DVD, then Virtualdub to get the settings to GP32-happy ones. i've tried going dtraight to GP32 with DVDx, it doesn't work too well --jo

How did you here about the GP32?

I was strolling around ECTS 2002, and was gretted by a gamepark employee in the GameInfinity (korean games) stand - he had a gp32 with Doom, i listened, and got one a few months later --jo

How much did you pay for customs?

i paid no duty, lik-sang stated a $30 value on the packaging so custo,s didn't bother --jo

Maybe windows or an OS can be ported to the GP.

efforts have been made to port Windows CE .NET to GP32, they're progressing. as for running Windows 98, there are licensing issues for a start, and the X86-ARM9 incompatability for seconds... --jo

    gSCUMM

COMI - no, even if you could fit it support is only in there in SCUMMvm 0.4, and gpSCUMM is based on 0.3 FT - if it fitted, maybe. it makes heavy use of the IMUSE subsystem which is only really properly working in 0.4 --jo

    Doom

i spoke to the head of freedom about gp32 compatability back in febuary. there's no reason for it not to work once boom extensions are implemented in gp32 doom - little things such as the ability to go "underwater" through an interim layer. it's summat to ask craig really. --jo

    Songs from CD to GP32

another vote for CDex. the problem you're having, zboy9, is that Windows Media Player saves things in its own crappy format called WMA. what you need is to convert to MP3 instead - which CDex does quickly & well, and has caused less problems for me in the past than EAC. --jo

    SCUMMVM Problems

    1) Which version of PC-Link are you using? 1.3 Is the latest, 1.2 has worked fine for me in the past. It's always possible that either the GP32 or your cable is fault somewhere. 2) The current version of GP32 ScummVM will not work with the CD MONSTER.SOU file. a later version should include...

    what exactly is a gp32?

no disrespect to craig, but have a review written by someone who DOESN'T make a living selling the things. i mean, i wouldn't ask in a Sony Center which games console to buy... http://gaming.hexus.net/review.php?review=537 --jo

    ScummVM

try a decent recent version of scummvm (i.e. the one listed here on gp32x) i never used the alpha, but it's old as the hills (hence why only DOTT works) --jo
