Excellent work, I hope to build a cable soon.
Would it it be possible to share the source code for enabling TV out so It can be integrated into applications?
Rom & SaveState Previews are on the to-do list along with per-game settings. What I would like to do is while flicking through roms/states, the translucent background changes to the selected rom/state preview. What do you think?
Thanks for your positive comments guys. I'm going to implement.
-bug-fixes (savestates disappearing bug)
-no scaler option
-fullscreen scalers (pixel average + squashed scale2x)
-rom browser page tabbing & wrapping
-(maybe) working zip support
expect it before the new year.
Edit: Doing a major...
OhBoy is a Gameboy/Gameboy Color Emulator. Currently binaries are available for the GP2X Wiz. GP2X(F-xxx) and Pandora Support is planned.
It is based on gnuboy 1.0.3. The core sources have not been modified in any way but rather OhBoy provides a graphical front-end and GP2x-centric back-end...
Keys are redefinable. However I don't think its possible to bind single keys to multiple commands in standard gnuboy. It's a good idea though. I'll have a think as to the best way to implement this.
I will of course release the source of my emulator, I hope to have something posted before wednesday. I hope you'll forgive me for holding back until I'm happy with it.
The basic premise though is to use a small (512 samples) sdl audio buffer but maintain a second larger buffer (say 4096...
I've got a solution that doesn't increase sound latency. Fixing tearing is certainly do-able but won't be implemented on first release. I don't want to hijack this thread so I'm going to go silent until I finish it, be patient.
Your Wiz is probably fine chickendung. The reason lemonboy seems slower in normal mode is quite complicated but not exclusive to your Wiz. I'll try to explain. It's related to the larger sample buffer Pickle's using. Inbetween buffer uploads frames are being rendered stupidly fast then pausing...
The simplest solutions are always the best eh? :) With a buffersize of 4096 and a sample rate of 44100 things are only syncing ~10 times a second. I found the latency and percieved framerate unbearable. That is of course only if you're blocking on the audio callback, I can't recall how Lemonboy...
The static you refer to is due to the pcm buffer not being filled in time for the SDL audio callback. I am working on a solution at the moment for my own branch of gnuboy. I will release a beta+source sometime within the next 7 days.
I'm pretty sure the TTL convertor is powered from the PC, the 5V header on the lead is to power the device so I guess that's going in pin 21/22.
I'd also like to add a USB socket to the USB host pins, should I take one of the power out pins 4/5 for usb host power? These are only 3.7V though...
I have just purchased this lead. Am I right in thinking I just need to connect:
GND -> EXT(12) GND
Tx -> EXT(13) RX
Rx -> EXT(14) TX
My electronic skills are lacking and am confused by pins 20,21 and what role they play in serial communications. Or can I just connect the usb lead's 5V VCC line...
If like me eduke32 insists on creating the .eduke32 dir in /root/ then consider using this hack.
Extract the contents of this zip in your eduke folder (overwriting the old files and dirs)
The new (eduke32.gpe and eduke32_NAM.gpe) scripts copy the .eduke32 directory to /root/ before running the...
