GP2X [rant] Why Isn't Gph Embracing The Dev Community?

No, and unfortunately it's being broken by the changes we're making to open2x. Too bad we don't have the sources or we could figure it out :/

    Open2x That Was Just Uploaded

Not sure why you'd want to, but anyway. I've got idea for 'packages', like say gcc or qtopia, which would be distributed as squashfs images, and be automatically mounted on /opt. These could either be on the SD card or copied to the writeable nand. So you would have say, /opt/gcc/ with bin, lib...

    Open2x That Was Just Uploaded

Sure does, Mudi. This means smaller binaries and faster loading times for shared apps using these libs. Hopefully devs won't mind releasing 2 versions of their binaries, anyone care to comment ?

For sure, decent skin handling is one of the goals of our menu project. It will be able to load skins from either the SD card or a writable partition. As for progress on other fronts, I've managed to get a stable network driver running, and have telnetd, sshd and a dhcp server going. You need...

    10 Games Coming Out.....

Plus its rather simple to set the drm key on your gp2x to whatever you like, so you could make your new one match your old one. Anyway, I heard around 20 pounds for the SD versions, depending on the size of the cards needed.

cramfs was already in the source tree. squashfs needs to be patched in (not that it's hard).

    Libc Version Conflicts

Open2x is looking at including all of the libs in oopo's toolchain as the standard environment, and keeping the old libs around for a compatibility mode. This means that devs have the option of supplying non-static versions of their binaries for smaller size and faster loading. But for now we...

    Highest Numbered Machine Serial Number..

The date is part of the serial. It's the 54'th unit made on 2005-11-22 for example.

Does 1.4 Have A Reliable Usb Connection???

The g_ether driver seems to work a charm in WindowsXP, shame it dies in the arse on Linux and Mac. It will be included as an option in Open2X, as its much faster and more reliable than serial or storage.

    Full Firmware Image?

In either direction mate :P Theres data stored in the oob area that dd doesn't catch. You could tar the os image, install cramfs (or boot with root-on-sd), format a fresh jffs2 partition and untar onto it.

    Full Firmware Image?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. You can't dd jffs2. Use DJWillis's guide, you have to flash from the bootloader.

    Gp2x + Wifi Sd Card

Is this the lucky 100th thread on this topic? We should have a party or something.

    Cramfs?

Well the format is changing, so future official Open2x kernels won't be compatible. Thanks for checking first.
