Try reading the question Craig was responding to:
After all, we already know the case moulds will take a month or so, so they have that time to finish tweaking the boards.
Well, I didn't mean electrically impossible (although I guess I should have been clearer :D ) just that you may not end up with a solution that's actually usable...
There was only ever one set of shoulder buttons planned. However MWeston broke out a couple of spare gpio's so someone could attempt the mod if they really wanted.
But since we don't have our Pandora's yet, there aren't any instructions, nor do we know if the mod is even possible, let alone...
No, unfortunately. Ever tried seeing anything else when someone shines a torch straight into your face? That's what happens. You'll have to keep tilting the screen down to shine on the keys, and then back to actually see the screen. It bugs me no end on my Zaurus.
Noooooo :(
Or result in everyone cancelling their Pandora 1 orders to wait for a newer version, killing the OpenPandora company in it's crib. People did learn from Adam Osborne's (apparently apocryphal, but still enlightening) fatal error :)
Half the reason that the team has taken their time getting the...
You can thank the dongle manufacturer for that piece of inane hardware design; I still use the special tool (huaweiAktBbo) to force the dongle out of usb storage mode on my linux box, which works acceptably (still wasting a minute or two) but I can rarely get it working on my windows machines at...
After the marathon getting the Pandora 1 into production, you can be sure craigix and the team won't be going through it all again for at least a couple of years.
Actually it's the heat generated by the device that's the major culprit, not the charging profile (although that does have an effect). Laptop manufacturers emphasise charging profile because they can't do much about the heat.
That apple site says to try and keep the laptop at 22degC. HA! I...
Have I reading the same boards? For ages there's been info every week or so, interspersed with people bitching about how they aren't getting any information...
That only makes sense for 'smart' laptop batteries that have capacity measurement circuitry *in the battery*; apparently some can get confused after a while. The Pandora battery doesn't have anything like that, so don't bother cycling it.
LiIon/LiPoly lose capacity fastest when they're both hot...
How can you possibly be so sure (and continue to bitch and bitch and bitch) when you haven't even held it in your hands yet? I've used a Zaurus for years, which has multiple keyboard oddities, and they haven't caused me any trouble. Fine, remap it. Use a damn marker to cover the label. And STILL...
No, they are absolutely in the right spot - consider the use cases. You'll want to press Ctrl/Alt plus another key, and that's a real pain if you're forced to jam one thumb against one side of the keyboard and reach the other thumb all the way across. With them in the middle you can use either...
Hey! Don't say stuff like that - uneducated people might think you actually mean it, and we'll *never* stem the tide of "why can't I play Halo?" posts...
