    Sdxc Rolling Out From Panasonic

Theoretically, yes, the SD standard had *a way* of getting to 4G, but it wasn't ever usable, because absolutely no SD card ever produced had a blocksize other than 512 - which is why they did away with multiple blocksize support in SDHC. The only way to get to 4G then was to steal extra bits...

    Laser Projector

Hmm. Obviously, it depends on the exact laws involved, but a lot of these laws are directly targeted at laser pointers - lasers which are integrated into other devices don't endure the same scrutiny (hence you still being able to buy laser printers, blu-ray drives, etc.) A projector isn't really...

    Laser Projector

Probably not an issue; the scanning should blur out the interference patterns that cause it. Why? There's nothing magically dangerous about a projected laser image compared to a standard projection. Lasers just happen to be really efficient at cramming their energy into a small area - when it's...

    Sdxc Rolling Out From Panasonic

Actually, it was a hard 2G limit in the original SD standard. Manufacturers managed to repurpose an (sort-of) unused bit in the card's descriptor block to push that up to 4G, but that was always only an iffy hack. SDHC had a soft 32G, because that is all FAT32 can address. If SDXC is different...

    Avatar And Other 3D Movies

Did you bother watching Avatar? It's free of that gimmick, except for ONE instance where it actually makes perfect sense. Up 3D was similar; in fact for all the hype surrounding the new 3D tech, the way it's being used has been remarkably restrained.

    Sdxc Rolling Out From Panasonic

There have been multiple threads about SDXC here, you could try looking them up. I don't think anyone (outside the SD committee and the companies who have paid $$$ for the standard) knows yet whether SDXC has changed anything in SDHC beyond substituting ex-FAT instead of FAT16.

Usb Otg Adapters - Which Ones, And Where To Get?

I have a 10cm long cable I got from conics.net when I bought my latest Zaurus, but I also recently received an extremely low-cost adapter from Dealextreme which also works perfectly: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26783 The shape is only to prevent it being inserted into mini-B...

    Pandora Not Powerful Enough?

Uh, that's part of the design process. You have to make choices between features, cost, and availability of components. Oh, and actually getting something to market rather than going the Duke Nukem Forever route and never releasing at all. This seems to be the sort of thing you're asking for...

    Mobile Internet

Don't forget you can also tether to a 3g phone over bluetooth, no need to carry another piece of hardware. It'll probably be slower than a direct 3G usb dongle, but you probably aren't going to be downloading gigs whilst on the move. Hell, my new phone doesn't do HDSPA, so it's not going to be...

    Pandora Accessories Madness

I swear by the screen protector I have on my Zaurus; if you get a good one and get it applied well (no bubbles, trapped dust etc) then there is very little need to ever remove it - unless it gets badly scratched. And in that case you'd be replacing it, not reapplying it anyway. Even the cheap...

    Pandora Accessories Madness

Unfortunately, that won't work - the mini-A host plug is wired differently to the usual mini-B client plug. Just changing the gender won't do it. Reapplying a screen protector... there's your problem :)

    C64

It makes some sense if you notice that Dunny is from the UK - whilst the C64 was dominant in the US, the Speccy had a pretty strong lock on the UK. And you have to admit the C64 basic is a bit, well, basic. :) (I'm an Amstrad CPC guy, so I'm provably impartial in this debate THEY BOTH SUCK :D )

How Hot's The Battery Gonna Get?

Actually, a puncture is really bad not because of water ingress, but because there's a multilayered sandwich of conductors inside the cell. If you puncture or crush the cell then you have a high risk of shorting out part or all of the cell, which causes the cell to get very hot, very quickly...

How Hot's The Battery Gonna Get?

Parallel cells will work without changes to the hardware (for instance, Sparkfun sells a 3 cell 6Ah battery like that), however you really need to have the cells fairly closely matched in internal impedance for the configuration to work well and load the cells equally. Oh, and it'd probably...

    My Mp Pandora

The internal NAND isn't anywhere near as fragile as people make it sound - it just makes sense to treat it carefully since it's not an easily replaceable part. And as Wheels mentions above - NAND is also the storage in SD cards. It's a bit pointless trying to make generalisations between the...

The Pandora Will Be Sllooww ?

You really have to go back and learn what the difference between RAM and flash storage is  Besides, the OS is *not* on the SD card, it's on the internal flash storage. And 'underpowered'? This is sounding more and more like a failed trolling attempt. Yup, bad trolling attempt.

    Add Firewire

It's for breaking *into* a windows box through the firewire port. Totally not an honourable activity, and I doubt anyone who is this determined to make a portable device for doing it is in it 'for educational purposes only' - as then you'd just be using your own setup which doesn't need to be...
