Can We Change The Gp32 Joystick

You can change the GP32 joystick and it isn't as difficult as you might think. The joystick can be levered off, without damaging it, using a thin pair of scissors, or anything else that is V-shaped and can apply pressure to both sides of the stick at the same time. I found it difficult to...

GP32 Easy Start Guide To Building Mame

Hello everyone, I’m hoping that by giving people an English “easy start” guide to building Franxis’ GP32 port of Mame, then Franxis would get more help with future development work. So here it is: This guide applies to building Mame under Windows. Thanks to Oankali, this guide is mostly based...

    Gp32 Is Famous

I'm a real gadget nut and used to buy Stuff magazine to see keep up to date with all the latest boys toys. http://www.stuffmagazine.com/gear/ I first saw the GP32 in that magazine, but didn't pay much attention to it until a friend of mine pointed out it's emulation possibilites. I've been...

New Games For Gp32 Mame 1.2.3

I don't understand all this, I just go into my garage and plug my GP32 in one of the 700+ circuit boards I've got from all the old arcade cabinets I used to own :D Isn't this what everyone else is doing?

    GP32 Gp32 Emu?

I think he means the other way around. Like a geepee32 program for the Dreamcast.

    Mame Gp32 1.3 Download !

I don't even know what's wrong with it :) Tell us the problem and it might be an easy fix (probably not, but you might be lucky).

    Mame Gp32 1.3 Download !

Try deleting ALL the .cfg files in GP:\GPMM\MAME034 directory and get rid of the MAME.CFG file in GP:\GPMM, so you're starting off with a "clean installation". Tell us if that fixes you're problems.

    Mame Gp32 1.3 Download !

I didn't realise Tempest was so popular. I mainly made the changes for the Atari Vector engine to enjoy a bit of nostalgia playing Star Wars on the great GP32. If you're not happy with the sensitivity of the joystick for Tempest, or other analogue games, then follow these instructions from the...

I've Got An Smc To Fill

For something completely different, install a text reading application and then download loads of books to read. I use !reader, which you can get here http://www.gp32x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,8,71 I've also downloaded a huge collection of books, you can get the entire collection of many...

Is There Any Reader That Supports .lit?

You won't believe this, but the application to "convert lit" files has been abbreviated to "clit.exe". You can get a copy for Windows here http://www.convertlit.com/clit18.zip

GP32 Executing Fxe Files From Program

A brilliant idea, in fact Franxis gave me the same suggestion earlier today. Cheers

GP32 Executing Fxe Files From Program

I've tried to use this to put a front end into GP Mame, and I've had success passing in an argument so that a ROM file is automaticallly loaded. However, I've had a problem which seems to make these improvements pointless. When you've finished playing the game, or you've changed your mind which...

    Gp32 Mame Beta Testers Wanted

Can someone please test this issue with Version 1.2.2 of M.A.M.E. (the current release at this point in time), it's available here: http://www.gp32x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,5,600 The few games I've tried seem to work correctly, as Franxis had already made this change long before I got my...

    Mame Gp32 1.3 W.i.p

It's a good job you brought this up, as I hadn't tested if Gauntlet would work in multi-player mode. Well, it didn't. Your post has meant that I've had to have another good look at the code and work out what was going on. 2 player start etc. worked, but "Coin B" etc. wasn't enabled, so for...

    I Can't Get Games Onto My Gp32.......

Sounds like you're putting the files in the wrong place. "executable" games with a .gxe extension traditionally go in the directory: \GAME Homebrew applications/games go in \GPMM And if you're using Dr. MD, then that application expects to find all the ROM files in a subdirectory of GPMM...

    Mame34 Roms

I've only just found this area of the forums  . Silly me. Anyway, what I wanted to tell you is that these games will be supported in the next release. I'd recommend Not Emulating the sound for Star Wars though, as it runs much more smoothly without it.

    Mame Gp32 1.3 W.i.p

I've added the code to make multi-player work. I'm not sure how it's going to work in reality. I've only tried it with a couple of 2 player games where players take it in turns to use the controls (like shoot 'em ups). Franxis had already mapped the 2nd player's control etc to use be the same...

    Gp32 Mame Beta Testers Wanted

I've had an idea about this can be done without creating too many SMC write operations. I'll try to get the changes done before Franxis releases his next version of Mame.

    Gp32 Mame Beta Testers Wanted

Saving settings per game probably could be done, but would result in a lot more file writes (one per game, rather just than one for Mame). Apparently the SMC cards die after they're written to a certain number of times. I was concerned that evertime a new game was opened (SMC read) it would...

    Gp32 Mame Beta Testers Wanted

My GP32 over clocks to 166 mhz and I've found that using the "Sound Not Emulated" option, makes the games play quite smoothly. If I use the "Sound On" it's still quite playable, but feels a bit "rough around the edges" I know Franxis has done some work to optimize the code, but I don't think...
