I had a look at Wind-ups, but unless I was using it wrong, it would only show me the name of the .fxe file which doesn't always easily match up to the name of the application that you see on the GP32 "desktop".
Does slubmans comander or Wind-ups have any way in which they make it obvious which...
I'm going travelling for about 12 months and I'm currently busy filling up my SMC cards with as many applications as possible. For example, I'm adding almost every puzzle game from the downloads area onto one 128MB card.
I know I'm going to come across various versions of the same game (tetris...
Good news, good news.
I found a site that has all the old versions of Mame32 (which makes using Mame on Windows a real breeze).
Get your old versions here:
http://mame.joymonkey.com/mame32/
I tried version 0.34 and it even warns you that "There are problems with this game". Pretty cool.
But...
I was quite excited too when the game loaded up, I've never even heard of this game before, but unfortunately it's the same for me, maybe it's a bad ROM :(
Does this work on the msdos 0.34 version of Mame? Or any other version?
If it doesn't work in msdos 0.34, but does work in a later...
If your batteries or the battery connectors are a bit rusty, or oxiginated then the voltage supplied to the GP32 will be lower. Think of a torch you've had in the past that worked better when you shook it. There is probably no loose component, just try rubbing the spring/connectors gently in...
Have you tried a set of normal batteries?
If they're OK, have you checked the rechargable batteries are OK? Fully charged? Bad batteries? I've bought some high power rechargeables recently and one was a duff. The others are working great though in my GP32.
Bank Panic, that should be possible.
Tapper, much more difficult as it means adding the "Bally Midway "MCR" games" engine.
Have you any ideas how to control dual joystick games? I'd love to glue on another joystick, but I don't think I can do that in code.
But you just have asked me. :D
I had half an hour to spare today and thought "I'll give it a quick bash and see what happens". Well what d'ya know, IT WORKED. I've now added all the Sega Vector games and I'll send the changes to Franxis for him to add to the next release.
Unfortunately there...
I don't think anyone can tell you where to get the right ROMs, we're not allowed to post links to ROM websites. There are plenty of sites out there though, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding an alternative version.
More than likely, you've got a version that is too NEW for this old...
Have you tried every version of Franxis' Mame?
Download MAME GP32 1.0 (5.8 Mb)
Download MAME GP32 1.1 (6.3 Mb)
Download MAME GP32 1.2.1 (5 Mb)
Download MAME GP32 1.2.2 (5 Mb)
Download MAME GP32 1.3 (6.3 Mb)
If you could find that it worked in one version, then stopped working in the next...
I added the ability for the next version of Mame to be called with external parameters and sent my changes to Franxis for him to put into the source code. If anyone out there can write a "Mame Menu Application" then please get in touch with Franxis to offer your help.
If the code still works...
I think Franxis might have removed it because it could create lots of SMC write operations. I'd quite like to High Scores in Mame, if I had more time I'd have a look at doing it and creating an option on the "Options Screen" to allow High Scores Saves to be enabled and disabled.
If anyone wants...
To help Franxis get some more developers helping him, I’m creating a guide on how Atari Vector Graphic games were added to his 1.2.2 source code. Hopefully some developers will see this and be inspired to help increase the list of games supported by Mame.
Firstly I’d like to point out that I’m...
Are you good at programming in C?
It could be quite difficult to find this problem, as it doesn't crash at startup, it only happens after the game has run for a while.
I have an idea what it might be, but I haven't got time to look into it. I think it might be something to do with the Hi Score...
Ahh, "Hello Oankali".
I just wanted to say a big "Thank You" for the documentation on your site, I don't think I could've done all the work I've done to Franxis' Mame port without it. I've used some of your guide and some of jcbnetwork's guide (thanks a bunch to you too), to create a "Mame...
