Look for "Save for future sessions" in the shutdown dialogue. It's just a tick box and should save your session settings before shutting down. I used to have similar issues sometimes and that got me out of it. After the next boot I usually untick the box because the settings would then stick...
That's exactly what happened in fact. I opened the Pandora and found that when I had changed the lcd cable the two microphone pins had broken off the mic and stayed attached to the board. I performed some microsurgery using longer wires and reconnected the mic. It works now.
so which is the playback device hw:0,0? I tried them all and I always get the error "error opening device" from audacity. I also set the sampling lower to 11k but still no sound. I'm going to cry coz that indicates that the actual input amp is probably bonkers.
I'll try with the old kernel too...
Thanks. Tried arecord too with no success. I guess my microphone is a dud. If it's just a broken mic I can easily change it. I hope it's not the input hardware that's bust.
I have yet to succeed at getting some sound from the internal microphone of the pandora. Anyone know of a simple app that uses the internal mic for a test? I have audacity installed but have never managed to get anywhere near capturing a sound. It keeps complaining that it cannot initialise the...
Another method is to check if a change that should have been done by the script (example a setting in a config file) is already in place and exit if it is. However, the method suggested by Neelix is better because you can force the script to re-run simply by deleting the lock file.
Is the dramatic jump in the diff field on the last couple of block sizes an indication of something more significant or is it always like that on the smallest block sizes?
This is very interesting. Well done!
When looking at the results though, I find that while the difference between the varioius ext formats is clear however does the difference between mounting with relatime, noatime and dirsync matter that much? I can see that with relatime and then with...
I tried a quick echo test but it did not connect. I didn't have time to test more since then but I'm hopeful that at least voice might work with some tweaks.
Some of the older units have clocked up to and sometimes over 1GHz but mine, for example, does not go over 900 without crashing so maybe 900 could be a 'safe' speed?
Edit: lol....ninja'd as usual....with deeper philosophies than mine ;)
I think I was one of the first to grumble about the different versions of Pandora hardware but now that I've thrown Android at it and it works fast with little overclocking I've changed my mind and wound down my fears that the older Pandas won't run the newest and best software. It's not just a...
I have been through most of the xfce settings (the ones accessible from menus) and have never encountered settings to do with the grid spacing. Unless it can be done manually in some obscure config file from the command line I am almost sure that XFCE does not allow for grid space resizing...
How difficult is it to continue on notaz's work? Anyone knows what it involves (how-to) and if it can be maintained by non-developers? I'm not really into Android but it gives me another reason not to need a smartphone and the way it was done as a pnd is having the best of both worlds without...
