    Included Cd

Go here, download the file. it's a user guide put together by GuyFalkes. The same web site (here) has everything included on said CD and updated versions as well as games, emu's etc not released when CD was. Also it's a good idea to read through a lot of the posts here to get an idea of what...

    Ps2 Linux?

Had it, ditched it. It was only quasi linux. Required the DVD to boot. Required a sync on green SVGA monitor and really expensive adpater cable to make text readable. Actually installed nastily, and I'll stress that. When you installed it you had to watch a clock for a certain amount of seconds...

    Slashdot Once More...

Just downloaded the U-Boot code from that link (to make sure what I was saying was true). In the archive, in \u-boot\tools\logos\ is one file 'denx.bmp'. If this was the code the retail units were compiled with it would have a bitmap of the grey boot screen. You know, the one before the ugly...

    Slashdot Once More...

We need them because we have not yet received the U-Boot source code, just the code used for the dev kits. Again, we only have HALF the required source code. The U-Boot code is MUCH more important than the kernel code. Whatever has been modified is kind of irrelevant at this point. The most...

    Units Of Absurd Measurement

Found this somewhere, where I don't really know :) 1. Ratio of an igloo's circumference to its diameter = Eskimo Pi 2. 2000 pounds of Chinese soup = Won ton 3. 1 millionth of a mouthwash = 1 microscope 4. Time between slipping on a peel and smacking the pavement = 1 bananosecond 5. Weight...

    GP2X Help! Dev -c++

Sorry, just got around to reading this. Usually the black screen is a sign of missing or invalid library, compile with linker option '--static'. From menu -'Tools' - 'Compiler Options' - 'Compiler' tab - put a checkmark in the line 'Add these commands to the linker command line' - type...

GP2X Problem Running Sdl Apps Compiled With Devkitpro

Are the SDL libs the same as what is on the GP2X? If not, you have to compile with --static option for the linker. AFAIK, devkitpro uses GCC 4.02, which would mean a different version of SDL as well... If some one knows differently, please post :) I had this same problem myself, added...

GP2X Splash Screen Petition To Get Our Way

Actually it's not 'uboot', it's 'U-Boot' (two completely different bootloaders). Uboot is no longer being maintained, while U-Boot is still under production and development at www.denx.de That website is an excellent source of info on how the boot process, and firmware upgrade processes work...

GP2X [rant] Why Isn't Gph Embracing The Dev Community?

I think GPH are more suited to management than production or development. Their hardware was designed for them from ARM, Magiceyes, DiginSys etc. Their software was provided by the linux community, tweaked by MagicEyes and DiginSys, and Beta testing by ourselves. The hardware was assembled by...

    External Power Supply

Had a difficult time finding an appropriate power supply in Canada (remote rural area). Ended up with an MW regulated 1700ma. I could not find one with 3.3 volts, though, just 3 volts then 4.5 volts. Works good at 3V, haven't tried 4.5V, yet as Squidge said Reesy did. However, that brings me to...

Any Mods That Get Rid Of Nand Or Sd Select?

Actually the need to add file extensions ( .gpu & .gpe) is only necessary for GPH's menu program, we could drop that and go back to linux permissions from file attributes. Also, gpm (the mouse driver) seems to be running. Does anybody know if GPH used that for input in gp2xmenu? If it is, we...

    Nand Lifetime.

Actually there are several files which are written to NAND on every boot (dmesg etc) as well as least one 'tracking' file for EbookViewer, bookmark.dat which is written to NAND constantly. We all know nothing lasts forever, but GPH just keeps amazing me with the silly things they've done with...
