    Pandora Cube

I'd be looking for HDMI, VGA, or DVI for what the device would be used for. It's probably a few years off since it would also need a h264 decoder built in to handle the higher definition video. It likely could not be like the beagleboard alone or pandora board alone based on what I've seen...

    Video Is Playing Horribly Bad

If it's seriously because that mencoder commandline is too difficult for you then you should try badak, it will let you batch a ton of files and the default configuration is just fine. Badak is a front-end for mencoder.

    Video Is Playing Horribly Bad

I reencoded all the videos with badak, and it's really ok, so I guess I can stop me whinin for the most part. It isn't like you can see a difference at the display resolution anyway. And if you have a decent machine you'll re-encode single or 2-pass in like 100-250 fps, so it takes about a...

    Video Is Playing Horribly Bad

Ehh, It's true that I didn't rescale these but these same videos worked just fine on the GP2x, is this still the problem? (And by that I mean I literally had the same SD Card with the same exact videos working before I swapped the card into this device). Well.... I guess that rescaling issue...

    Video Is Playing Horribly Bad

The quality is very good and everything else is faster than the GP2x, but the video playing is very very bad on the unit my brother purchased. The sound plays, but the video is practically non-moving 30% of the time and only plays a few fps here and there randomly. I don't see any posts thus...

Wikipedia Page Looks Out Of Date

Where else would even bother considering something like OpenPandora worthy of an "encyclopedia" article? Wikipedia does not in any way suck unless you consider a relatively small amount of inaccuracies on controversial articles a huge issue. It is significantly more comprehensive than any...

    Antivirus

My company isn't quite this bad, but they are close. Only "approved" applications (including OS) are allowed. The policy disallows installation of any other browser except what's on the OS, though people break this rule with Firefox because they don't go through enforcing it. The virus scan...

    Poll Time, Fellas =]

The poll options and question doesn't provide enough information for me to answer. 1) I think the games largely made the profit they needed to years ago 2) Even saying that, I'm not against paying a nominal fee to give them props for doing a service 3) For me, a nominal fee is nothing more than...

    Fat File System Licensing?

I was being somewhat facetious on this point. I was saying some people see the idea of easy patents from "flash of brilliance" as a rather novel idea because it helps to build up people who otherwise would have made very little of value. They aren't consistent winners, they are many times...

    Fat File System Licensing?

This should tell us all to stay away from Mono or Silverlight or DirectX or any other "standards" Microsoft pushes. They may not come for anyone now, but give them 10 years and they'll have changed their minds despite preaching that they desire interoperability. One of the main reasons I...

    Fat File System Licensing?

It's unfortunate TomTom caved, because based on other decisions I had read they were unlikely to lose that case. I think the problem is they were also unlikely to end up paying less in court fees even had the won, because the court would not have awarded them the fees for Microsoft's losing...

    Xoom Question

Inconsistent messages searching forum for this. I know some had issues but did anyone have it go through properly and if so how? I noticed now the stickies only refer to the actual bank transfer detail, is the only option now a direct transfer or physical check being mailed (I don't have...

    American Express

Yes, but I haven't been. It's still in dispute pending resolution. I'll be sending it as soon as I get it, but it won't be by this deadline. It probably will be before they ship though.

Yeah I got reorder e-mail I guess in error as well. I asked for response but didn't get one. I guess I'll ignore. I hope this doesn't mean problems.

    American Express

Is this an actual credit or is it just a reflection of the fact that they are to show it on your account during the dispute? Because I have a prompt saying the credit is reducing the amount I have to pay and I'm not being charged interest, but the credit is clearly not reflected in my balance...

Which Os Can Be Installed In Pandora?

Why do that though? I guess there may be some decent CE software out there but how much is made that's compatible in comparison to the Linux stuff out there? I am a little ambivalent on piracy myself. I switched to Linux because I prefer the open source mindset to that of proprietary...

How Hard Is It To Make A Game If I Have Never Programmed?

Lots of attempts have been made at various sorts of programming language, even going to "plain language" attempts. Basically, it's that some people are very oriented towards programming and most are just not. I'm somewhere in the middle myself. I code at work in VBA (which is super easy for...

With Pandora Work Well As A Media Player? (like Mp3 And Mpeg4, Ect..)

And it looks like there are debs available for applications like Amarok for arm, so I believe most common open source media players won't take too long to be available.

    American Express

That assumes AMEX is the one at fault, which I find doubtful in this case. I've been using the AMEX because it's not caused any problems in the past. I continued using it after the 0% intro APR expired (I pay it off monthly though, so they have never earned interest).
