Been Away for a While - Where are We?

I pre-ordered mine in March 2020. I'm hoping to get mine in 2022. I have purchased a secondhand 1ghz Pandora in the meantime and have been enjoying it very much.

I have DRM working in Chromium :)

I understand the anti DRM sentiment but I do appreciate the effort that went into making DRM content available on the Pyra. I like to have options above all else. I have personally asked RMS his opinion on Debian which we all here love so dearly and he balked at it for not being pure enough.

I'm in love with how easy that was.

Using the Pyra as a web server and phone simultaneously

My website is hosted on a cheap Lenovo micro-PC running Linux using a wifi connection. The LAN driver wasn't working under Linux out of the box but the WLAN works perfectly and apparantly it's more than capable for the loads it's under. I'm using the Pandora (and hopefully soon the Pyra) to...

    PYdReAm

I just wanted to physically rotate the screen and use it in portrait mode like a Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000.

WTB: Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000 or Similar

Looking to purchase a Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000. Sadly I sold mine many years ago and would like to relive the Zaurus. I'd be interested in the SL-C1000 or any clamshell model with VGA resolution. Located in Texas, United States. I can pay via the usual methods, PayPal, Venmo, etc. (Crossposted...

    WTB: OpenPandora

Oh wow, I didn't see the replies. I have acquired a 1GHz OpenPandora via the Discord channel and have been busy hacking away :)

How can I help? (Long term N900 and Debian user)

Welcome! I have only preordered a Pyra early this year having tracked the project for a long time. I have recently picked up a 1GHz OpenPandora and have been busy getting up to speed. For how much the OpenPandora can still do well in 2020, the Pyra will surely blow it away.

    Just a quick heads up

Good news? 2020 will be over in 38 or 39 days.

    Just a quick heads up

I'm not too concerned either. User replaceable battery and the fact that portable battery packs are easy to come by these days.

    WTB: OpenPandora

I have some interest in purchasing an OpenPandora to play with as I wait for the Pyra. I'm located in the United States.

It reminds me of the Pandora!

At least the OMAP processor will give us an option to use SATA.

    Heat Spreader Performance and Overclocking

That's some great info ED! Not ideal but it all makes sense. Essentially if a user wanted to push the limits, there are means to do so.

    Heat Spreader Performance and Overclocking

I know it's hard to know until we get it in our dirty hands but I have been curious how well the heat spreader performs and if there is any potential for improvements/modifications to get more performance out of it. Secondly, can the CPU be overclocked and what to expect if so. Can the CPU...

It reminds me of the Pandora!

It looks so beautiful. I struggled to play Doom on a 1.4ghz Pentium 4, 386mb RAMBUS, and a Nvidia GeForce 4.

It reminds me of the Pandora!

Fun fact, I actually did some consulting work at Texas Instruments last year.
