Help me tell the BBC about the Pandora.

Done, the BBC usually has very high quality articles, although I have noticed they are fairly clueless when it comes to game tech. Hopefully they will do a follow up with some open source handhelds, would be cool to see an interview with Craig on the BBC site. ;)

Who wants to become commercial game developers?

Hey, In answer to your main question, I would like to become a commercial game developer, however in what capacity I'm not entirely sure yet. I am mostly interested in game tech so I'm going to try and get into middleware and core development firstly I think. I sympathise with you for...

Yep, this is my default search engine. Best thing to happen to search ever in my opinion.

    Nokia moving to WP7

That sucks if that is true. I would have gone for a Nokia for my next phone but now I am not sure. Meego is a really cool idea I think, they should just stick with that and concentrate on making it as good as possible.

    Pandora HTML5 on Pandora

Cool, sounds promising. That game looks cool btw, I'll give it a go sometime. What browser did you test on the N900 as a matter of interest? Just realised this topic should be in "General Development", don't know why I posted it here. Can a mod move it please?

    Pandora HTML5 on Pandora

I'm wondering if anyone has tried any HTML5 games on the pandora? My experience is that HTML5 games are few and far between compared to flash games but I think there is a lot of potential for them. Would be interesting to see what the performance of browsers is like on the pandora vs a PC.

    Release Firefox 4 beta 10

Could someone try a webgl page like : http://learningwebgl.com/lessons/lesson01/index.html just to see what happens? Would be cool if it just worked. I think you need to enable webgl in about:config though first.

    WebGL Support

Yep, that's what I thought alright. Hopefully someone will get around to supporting the Pandora's graphics chip, that would be pretty cool.

    WebGL Support

Hi, I'm just wondering what the status of using webgl with browsers on the pandora is. I imagine it doesn't run yet but is there scope in the future for it?

Hehe, this is the funniest thing I've read in a while. Good stuff.

    The £5,000 Challenge

Yep I thought of that a while ago, pretty great game, very well polished. Here are the deps on arch, are all of these on the pandora? * alsa-lib * curl * libjpeg >=8 * libmodplug * libpng >=1.4.0 * libvorbis * libxpm * libxxf86dga *...

Post picks and first impressions of your shiny new Pandora here!

Cheers for that, that seems like exactly what I need. I can use that for future assignments now. Bit complicated alright but looks like it does everything.

Post picks and first impressions of your shiny new Pandora here!

Not from what I could find, I had to make a video for a college assignment recently and I couldn't find anything that was even semi-usable. If anyone does find something I'd like to hear about it.

    Let there be boards (2010 - 12 - 02)

Ah right, hadn't thought about memory mapped devices alright. PAE is only useful if you have lots of little processes though right? It doesn't extend the amount each process can use. Seems that processes can get around 2-3GB depending on OS and CPU in 32 bit.

What app / game do you want to see? :)

What about Carmageddon 64? Not as good as the original but still.

    Let there be boards (2010 - 12 - 02)

Really? I would have assumed x86 was capable of addressing 4GB of address space, it being a 32 bit processor, why is the x86 different? What I should have said is that I was assuming linux as the OS also, because I think that reserves 1GB for the kernel's usage by default, don't know if you...

    Let there be boards (2010 - 12 - 02)

Assuming a 32 bit processor and OS, the most a single process can use is 3GB. http://www.spack.org/wiki/LinuxRamLimits :) Not an issue for most applications, but can become an issue for large research programs as I found out the hard way. :( But yeah, its not going to be an issue unless...

One video per day - Discussions

New episode is really cool! Great to see the Mana World playable on the pandora. Lots of nostalgia with Lemmings and that Simcity clone. I hadn't realised how many cool homebrew games there were. Cheers Ed, great video.
