A New Gp32 Version To Celebrate Its 10Th Anniversary ?

Got the stick of RAM in today! I guess I'll be seeing how easily I can desolder one of these chips this evening. EDIT: Dang, I can't get them desoldered. :( I found what might be a compatible chip on Digikey that I could order, but I'd want to make sure I could cleanly remove one of the...

A New Gp32 Version To Celebrate Its 10Th Anniversary ?

Yup, I had that figured out. Thanks for the link though, I was just planning on using the firmware from the page with the mod instructions, but that looks like a better option.

A New Gp32 Version To Celebrate Its 10Th Anniversary ?

Yeah, that's me that bought it. :P My plan is to try doing it with my spare, and if that goes well, then I'll try it with my main unit. If I can do both of mine without problems, chances are pretty good I'd be able to do yours as well. :)

A New Gp32 Version To Celebrate Its 10Th Anniversary ?

I tell you what, I'll get started experimenting on mine ASAP if you can get a proper stick of RAM shipped to me. Looks like it should be non-ECC 128mb PC133 SDRAM with 4 chips rather than 8: http://www.cobblewar...32/gp32ram.html I had a look on ebay and it looks like they're a bit hard to...

A New Gp32 Version To Celebrate Its 10Th Anniversary ?

I'm thinking about trying it with my spare GP32, but I'll have to do some more research on it. I did manage to make my own hot air soldering pencil out of a Radioshack desoldering iron, so I have decent SMT soldering capability now.

    Openjazz Update

http://alister.eu/jazz/oj/ EDIT: Chances are he already knows about most of them as he is constantly developing this.

    Openjazz Update

Aside from the crackly music, those are all bugs Alister needs to work out, so you'd probably do better mentioning them on his site rather than here. Also, I thought there was a point on Medivo where the board was supposed to fall away as well, but when I played my CD version in DOSBox a couple...

    Openjazz Update

Just a heads-up, looks like Alister's been doing some major bug fixing. He released a new build and source code today: http://alister.eu/jazz/oj/ He says it's possible to finish every level now. :) So yeah, if you get time to poke around in that source code as well, I'm sure it'd be worth it.

    Openjazz Update

I think so too. I was going to attempt it on my port eventually, but I didn't know at that time that I'd discover a more experienced coder also wanting to get this going. :) Will you be porting libmodplug to GP32, or will you be attempting to write a routine that can use SDL's built-in MOD...

    The Rabbit Joint

Sounds promising. I switched back to Ubuntu from Archlinux recently because every time I did a pacman -Syu something broke. However, I have been extremely disappointed at the number of X crashes I got after making the switch. Although I haven't had any in a few weeks now, so maybe they fixed...

    Openjazz Update

If you figure this out, I will be ecstatic! :D As you can probably tell from my avatar, Jazz Jackrabbit has been my all-time favorite video game for quite a while. Having it in an even more functional state on my favorite handheld would just be a great thing to happen.

    Openjazz Update

I hope you have better luck than I did. I got it to compile, but when it runs it initializes the audio, blanks the screen, and appears to freeze (or at any rate never draws anything to the screen). I found this topic on the issue, but I'm having trouble implementing the workaround...

    Openjazz Update

I have hacked together a small update for OpenJazz on the GP32. It basically just uses the GP32 code from A600's build spliced into a slightly newer version of Alister's code. Unfortunately there are problems with C++ and SDL on the GP32, so I was not able to use the newest version of...

    Rrootage For Gp2X V1.0

Looks cool. Was Noiz2Sa on the GP32 inspired by the PC version of this, or some other game? They look very similar.

Looking For A Gp32 Wav Player

IIRC, the Gamepark player can be installed from the GP Manager program without an additional download. I don't know if that version supports WAV or not, but since you know the original player did, this one might as well. As far as other apps are concerned, there's United GP Viewer or...

    Need A Little Help

I can pick up around 23 free channels since the switch to digital. Or at least I could until a couple of weeks ago, which was when we had a storm that either knocked our antenna out of alignment or killed our signal amplifier. Just been too busy to fix it.
