    Slackware inside Pyra

The only time I've touched the filesystem, the card went unbootable. I use a hns's makesd modified version.

In this case, boot on PyraOS and do a fsck -y on the SD card. This should repair the card.

I can't test modem for now as I have no sim card. Yup, with my first tests I though Firefox wasn't able to play Youtube but it's not the case. For me, HDMI works but the screen is rotated, I think etnaviv driver has to be used for now for HDMI. For X autostart: 1- edit /etc/slim.conf to have...

You're welcome. In SMPlayer, just set video out to use x11, it should play videos with normal colors and a bit less CPU usage than mpv.

These three files (or at least one of them, no time to test which one) have to be removed from the rootfs, otherwise starting Xfce won't work: /usr/bin/pyra_purge-quit-menu.sh /usr/bin/pyra_first-xfce-login.sh /usr/bin/pyra_first-start.sh My bad again... this is an alpha release.

Ok, nailed it looking at the build logs: I had an internet outage during the build as some downloads failed incl. appropriate kernel (could be useful)... Resolving download.goldelico.com (download.goldelico.com)... failed: Temporary failure in name resolution. wget: unable to resolve host...

Crap, the image doesn't work. Did that in a hurry before sleep, didn't test, I'm sorry. Powering on only light the green logo at the back of the screen. I produced the image as usual but shrunk a bit the main partition in order to fit any 16 Go card. Maybe it broke something on the partition...

    Pyra without decent web browser?

I've just built latest FF ESR under Slackware ARM 15.0 on a Pyra-like devboard. It's long ! Next time I'll try to do that in one pass and check the time it takes.

Be _extremely_ careful when plugging in the USB charging cable

I try to define the behavior with tests and trials, take this with a grain of salt: I removed the battery the whole night. So far, I have 5V on both ports even if when peripherals aren't working. PyraOS or Slackware don't matter, it was randomness. When it doesn't work, I have to let the unit...

Be _extremely_ careful when plugging in the USB charging cable

Yes, I was sooo happy... Could be randomness, or maybe a link between SD usage and USB. Same happens to me with USB in rj-45 from time to time. I tried a micro USB Type B to A adapter of mine on the working unit (have two Pyras), but this adapter didn't work with a mouse. Or is it the micro...

Be _extremely_ careful when plugging in the USB charging cable

Hi, here's what happened today: I was working in the dark, and wanted to plug the USB cable in the micro Type B port. But I mistakenly plugged it in the blue USB Type A port. I saw a little spark and realised my mistake. I immediately tested USB devices, mouse and rj-45 adapter on both USB Type...

    Slackware inside Pyra

If you noticed the two cursors: no, it's not a gimp/photoshop fake;^) I see this from time to time, usually with Qt5 applications, and only with the "true rotation" omap5 xorg driver. So it took me two weeks (sorry, no two months® this time) to figure out what to do in order to succeed (new...
