Some questions about the 3G / GPS module

On the assembly pics, you see a PLS8-E. I used to believe all PLS8 could do GPS and Glonass: http://www.gemalto.com/m2m/solutions/modules-terminals/industrial-plus/pls8 But then I found this pdf: http://www.gemalto.com/brochures-site/download-site/Documents/M2M_PLS8_datasheet.pdf...

    Destroy him my robots!

I remember playing that for hours, although I seemed to be missing a manual which would have helped me with the doc check. (It was a doc check, asking me sth like a satellite position in the sector below...?) My god, was I easy to hook and hard to frustrate. The game doesn't work for me...

    Release Pandora System Info

Ah yes, it really looks like /etc/powervr-esrev and /etc/powervr-kmodver were missing. (On my install from scratch, I even have a /etc/powervr.ini. Maybe my nand install is botched, too...) Thanks a lot, that was helpful.

sd_installer.pnd (install OS on SD card) - problems!

Would be great if the SD installer could install on preformatted SD cards. I spend quite some effort aligning the partitions for speed - and that's rather welcome when an OS boots - but SD installer destroys those, which is a pity. Fixing the alignment with gparted is arduous and error-prone...

    Release Pandora System Info

Hey, first, this is a really nice and valuable tool, but you probably hear that a lot. (Well, usually it's not enough. :) ) I have a probably rather botched Zaxxon 1.70 on an SD. It's very early Pandora and probably had a handful of more or less unlucky updates. While I'm willing to bite the...

    upgrade errors

Hello guys, I have following errors when I do an upgrade (SuperZaxxon 1.71 (according to splash screen, 1.70 according to /etc/op-version)), via "upgrade Pandora OS", several tries). Does anyone know how where that might come from and how to fix? Thanks and regards. Updating package...

So - which module and by default which carrier(s) in the US will the US version of the Pyra work wit

I hope it'll be the PLS8. It's 4G and Glonass in addition to GPS. Nice bonus.

    Slackware for Pandora 14.1

Hm, I did a slackpg update, then a slackpkg upgrade-all and since that didn't do anything, a slackpgk reinstall xscreensaver. That reinstalled xscreensaver-5.22-arm-2.tgz, but I still get the complaint screen on every X start. I read the developer removed that stupid nag screen meanwhile...

    Slackware for Pandora 14.1

That seems to work nicely. Thanks! Funny, I was searching on that mirror and didn't find a http resource. There's an error with gpg keys, which also couldn't be amended by installing those, so I had to turn off (I believe) CHKPKG in /etc/slackpkg/slackpkg.conf. Other than that, the update went...

    Slackware for Pandora 14.1

Thanks for checking. I retried. Looks like I had a problem with ftp through the firewall here. I'll try a different network; but would it be possible to use http for the update in the future?

    Slackware for Pandora 14.1

Where? How? The wiki recommends slackpkg update , but that throws an error about mirror.inode.at refusing the connection, and I can't find slackwarearm there, either.

    Mounting the PND failed message

You could open a terminal and try uname -a ls -l /boot/uImage* file /boot/uImage* ls -l /lib/modules/ mount | grep ubi cat /boot/autoboot.txt and post the results... It's not to hard to give you a working kernel, it's just not very sure that'd solve your problem...

    Slackware for Pandora 14.1

After trying Debian on SD and Pandian, I'm now trying this Slackware. Looks really well thought and configured. No updates available yet, so it'll be interesting how it compares there regarding stability. I'm missing a handful of software. I could name them, of course (Mousepad, gps stuff), but...

    pandian - MARK2

Alright, so I took the Zaxxon Kernel (3.2.61, I believe) plus modules and have it running, however, wifi does not really seem to work (firmware and modules are in place and everything *looks* fine though). Before I go on here and post details... was my method faulted? I had the impression I...

    Slackware for Pandora 14.1

All the links in the wiki referring to ftp.armedslack.org are dead (host not found). I think this has transitioned to ftp.arm.slackware.com. If you confirm this guess, I can update the wiki. Edit: Updated the wiki. You can revert it if the info is wrong. Found that more effective.

    pandian - MARK2

Uh. A lot, it seems. I sorted out missing icons and fupped desktop (I'll post hints), but Pandebian is running kernel 3.2.45 and modules are for 3.2.53-pd2-00639-ge43bf76 (or something). Don't work like that. Anyone knows where I get the correct kernel? (vi missing. I hate nano. Installing not...

    pandian - MARK2

I just had a rather violent encounter with Debian On SD and stumbled on Pandian while researching the trouble I had. Tried it, and - works! That's nice! Thanks for the effort! This will become really valuable I believe. I'd also throw my vote for using "testing" as a base distro. "experimental"...

Release gpsd bundle and modrana update

I have a GT-750FL which offers Bluetooth and USB. It's alright I think; it has got a bit of trouble if you don't use th -b switch of gpsd it seems. Also depends on the version of gpsd. I'll have to find out a lot more... it's not a too stable setup atm, but I also play around quite a lot. The...
