Preorders Have Started. (Previously named starts in two hours)

I probably should've called it the first 1st batch goal. ED did say he'd prefer to have 950 pre-orders to start production of a batch of 1k.

    Pyra debian with systemd?

In Louisiana, you can carry knives around, as long as they're not ballistics (falls under "hidden firearms" laws) or automatics. However, just like the rest of the South, not only are cops rarely ever experts on the laws, but also they enforce the laws (or don't) on a less-official, more "human"...

Preorders Have Started. (Previously named starts in two hours)

Nearly met the 1st batch goal of 750 pre-orders in little over a month with only a handful of major(-ish) tech sites covering it (plus a long list of smaller tech sites/blogs). Boss.

    Estimated time of arrival?

No. ED is putting off giving a specific release date, as to not risk breaking any promises.

Pyra maximum resolution on external monitor

Would the Numato Opsis work? You could expect the same quality from both HDMI ports (the ones that do output, that is). I don't know if it would provide a lagless experience for gaming out-of-the-box, but it's an FPGA board. A lagless experience is possible.

Mednafen/Beetle PSX HW – Alpha test version

There's already a core in RetroArch for PCSX ReARMed, which is far more optimized and far more capable than Mednafen's PSX plugin is at this time, at least for the Pyra. I don't even know if OMAP5 supports OpenGL 3.x anyway, so you might not even be able to make use of Mednafen's PSX plugin's...

The What Music Are You Listening To Thread

@Djoga'Ro Just sounds like country rock to me tbh. There's a short list of bands that specific song/sound reminds me of. Some of them might be irrelevant, depending on if you want female vocals. Most notably, Zach Brown Band. As someone who doesn't like country, they're pretty fire, I think...

ARM Cortex A73 and Mali G71 Coming next year in products

I'm very well aware of that, but you can't tell me you didn't expect anyone to bring up the Pyra. Well, then again, Spanish Harlem has many white Hispanics, so perhaps there is a chance.

ARM Cortex A73 and Mali G71 Coming next year in products

There's not a white man's chance in Harlem that the MoQ of those would be sold by the thousands. And if that white man can in fact last in Harlem, then there's still no way EvilDragon could afford the price of those chips in the thousands (less so in the 100s). In a world where the Pyra has a...

    Absurdism corner

That gif has me confused. Is it the BernieBot that put the signs up or is it a BernieBot deciphering what the signs actually mean? I have never seen so many feminazis and PC police officers rally behind a candidate (Hillary) before. They didn't even do it in 2008, but I guess it's because it...

    Pyra debian with systemd?

...interesting. Manjaro's community is known to be more accommodating than Arch's, so I'd think that there's be at least one person willing to give you that simple solution (or move you in that direction). Pull that in Arch's BBS, and someone would either link you to the systemd wiki page or...

How did you find out about the Pyra/Pandora?

I learned of the Pandora from watching Ashens, a somewhat popular YouTuber that reviews junk, cheap/out-of-date food, and gadgets. That 40min Pandora video got me excited, but there was no way I could afford the Pandora at the time. Funnily enough, I found Ashens through YouTube recommending me...

    Pyra debian with systemd?

While I do like Manjaro, I had an AWFUL memory leak problem with it that was eventually traced down to their build of KDE5 (KaOS, with telemetry off by default, didn't have this issue). I've also had very strange performance issues that wouldn't pop up in similar setups in Arch (probably since...

    Pyra debian with systemd?

I have zero problems with that sensibility. Absolutely none. That's perfectly acceptable. Not everyone needs the pretty shiny and I get that. What Cinnamon's problem is is that it's a forked GNOME3 focused on UI. You probably already know this, but it does need mentioning: trying to maintain...

    Pyra debian with systemd?

I'd rather stick to Unity than an unmaintained fork of a DE that's called "stable." Android and Apple can get away with delicious-sounding nicknames and not sit stagnant like a box of sugar-coated lard squares. It's so easy to install other DEs on Ubuntu (or even just picking an Ubuntu spin...

    Pyra debian with systemd?

Gummiboot was merged into systemd as systemd-boot, which shouldn't be an issue for people on UEFI-based systems (especially on Arch, which takes care of most behind-the-scenes concerns with default installs). Either way, I've had none of the issues FIQ mentioned. I've only had the issue with...
