    Dosbox 0.70 - Suggest A' Game(tm)

Jill should definitely be possible, though you might have to use EGA mode to make it fast enough for GP2X. I'm not sure how well/fast VGA is emulated on the new DOSBox... Weird request: Ancient Empires by The Learning Company... best DOS 'edutainment' game ever :D

    Downgrading Firmware

It's very easy to downgrade the firmware, but please note that you will have to install Firmware 2.0.0 before upgrading to 2.1.1. Other than that it is very straightforward.

    Gp2x Power Supply

No, the GP2X does not charge the batteries. I was able to bend the contact in just a bit and now it is quite a lot easier to get my batteries out, you might want to try that (just don't bend it too far in obviously)

    Noobie Question

Load all of the files from Firmware 2.0.0 on the root of an empty (formatted) SD card. Put a pair of freshly charged batteries in the GP2X, or use a working power adapter. Hold down START+SELECT and start it up. It should reload the firmware and start working again. After that you can...

    Noobie Question

Upgrading the firmware is OS-independent, you just have to put a couple files on the root directory of a SD card. Unfortunately, not booting could mean several things... how far into booting does it get? Does it hang with a random patterned sceen (bad) or does it show the GP2X logo (good)...

    Hw Sdl Blitter Question

To answer the above, yes you can represent alpha values using ints, but then you have to do integer divides, which are also very slow on ARM. So either way you are doing something slow.

    What About Open2x?

I would say the default choice of GP2XMB is perfect, it probably appeals the most to new users who don't want to bother with changing the menu. The more experienced users who already prefer Gmenu shouldn't have much trouble switching because of their greater experience.

    Battleship Game

Hahaha, great idea... first 'major' game project I ever took up was programming Battleship in GWBASIC on a Corona PC clone :D

    Hw Sdl Blitter Question

Alpha blitting is usually too slow on GP2X, mostly because the blitter does not support alpha blending and software is too slow because of no floating point unit. I've gotten good results doing add/subtract transparency, is this something where that would be possible?

Themes Via Ln -s Or Symbolic Links

Should work I think (unless the NAND is formatted as FAT, which I don't remember), but that means that the symbolic links will fail if you don't have the right SD card in. Heh, whatever.

Any Other Program To Put Songs On An Ipod

160MB+ memory usage, slow GUI response, no extension support, questionable-reliability CD burning, bad CPU scheduling, DRM'd music store... I'm sure I could come up with more :)

    Gamepark Files Bankruptcy

Sorry, but reading your post made me think Epicenter too. You talk like him. If you aren't Epicenter then, well, that's fine. In the end I really don't care. EDIT: Also, you joined today and seem to know exactly what being Epicenter implies

Any Other Program To Put Songs On An Ipod

Another option that I would endorse is using Rockbox, though I hear that doesn't work on the latest version of ipods, it should make it much easier to transfer music and such.

Any Other Program To Put Songs On An Ipod

Winamp has an ipod plugin that works... Amarok is still linux only I think but it has great ipod support... umm, other than that I really don't know.
