    What About Some Decent Ports?

    Why not just port Pidgin?

    What About Some Decent Ports?

In my humble opinion, Quake 3 should be ported and used as the killer app for the Pandora. http://ioquake3.org is a good starting point.

    Why Not Just *run* Debian?

Stealth Bagel: CODE apt-get install pidgin And it resolves dependencies for you. I've never had "dependency hell" in Debian in my life.

Firefox 3 fixes all memory leaks that were present in Firefox 2. On average it consumes 30MB of memory. Plus it should be released by the time the Pandora is out.

A Couple Suggestions On The Design...

Don't most cell phones use a universal generic Li-Ion battery design? Couldn't you just use two of those batteries in the Pandora?

A Couple Suggestions On The Design...

Is the charging behavior switched automatically? I know these things never tend to happen in every day usage, but I'm worried someone might fry their unit if something happens. For example, if you plug both in, the DC-in charges the unit. What if you remove the DC power cable? Does it...

In my opinion the Pandora should ship with an open-source killer app pre-installed. Maybe Firefox 3.0?

A Couple Suggestions On The Design...

Will the Li-Ion battery be a proprietary model or will it accept generic Li-Ion batteries(like most cell phone batteries)? Also, would it be possible to charge through both USB and DC-in at the same time for faster charging?

A Couple Suggestions On The Design...

First of all, I'd like to say I love the concept design(you don't hear that enough, I know). Making it a clamshell mini-laptop is the best way to go in my very humble opinion :). I have a few design suggestions, however. Hardware suggestions: 1. Move the DC-in to the back of the unit. I say...

Well it has to support WPA2 and the RT chipsets struggle on WPA2 with the open driver(from my experience).

    Why Not Just *run* Debian?

With all the talk about how the Pandora could theoretically install Debian ARM packages, I have a question. Why not just install Debian on the Pandora?

    What About Some Decent Ports?

You could port ioQuake3(along with it's standalone projects such as Tremulous).

    Pandora's Design

Not to mention Amiga/C64/etc. And various open-source PC games I hope will be ported :).

    Albion

Albion is abandonware now, and I downloaded a copy of 1.38 full off of abandonia.com to see if I could play this game on my GP2X. What should I do? I don't have the CD and I run Linux so the instructions don't work with this kind of situation. Edit: Oh wait, I got it.
