New Gp2x Review!!! @ Trusted Reviews!!

The way they function, under Linux at least, isn't truly dual-core: It doesn't use SMP, it treats the GP2X as a single-core machine AIUI, if there were two 920Ts it would be dual-core. But because it's a 920 and a 940, despite having two processors, it is NOT a true dual-core machine...

New Gp2x Review!!! @ Trusted Reviews!!

Nope - any more than a PC with a graphics card is dual-core: Dual-core doesn't mean "it has two processors in it". The GP2X's second processor is more of a co-processor. It doesn't have an MMU.

    Pity they seem to think it's a dual-core machine. . .

Increase Volume In A Gp2x Video

Have you got the volume limiter thingy switched on in the settings menu? If so, try turning that off and see if you still feel the need for increasing the volume. .

Review Of The 'mark Ii' Cap

I just ordered one as well. Do they take long to arrive? You can get liquid rubberizer to give it a rubber coating if you really want. .

Gp2x Writeup On Digg - Take Two

Umm.. can't agree with that at all. Maybe you have one of the FLU units or something. My BLU+'s screen is about the best TFT I've ever come across.

I Just Thought Id Tell You Guys What I Thought About My Gp2x

Yes, but even with those disadvantages the chicken is more likely to survive than the eagle - that's how fit it is ;)

I Just Thought Id Tell You Guys What I Thought About My Gp2x

Trouble is, "fittest" is such a slippery term: Eagles are large, majestic, killing machines with weapons-grade talons and a beak capable of doing major damage. Chickens are powered by rubber bands, eat whatever they can find lying on the ground, and can barely even get airborne. Which of the...

Gp2x Writeup On Digg - Take Two

Actually, I agree with that - I really must look into getting a replacement, because it's starting to affect my typing ;) And I'd also have to say that no amount of fiddling has made the GP2X's screen quite as sharp & clear as my GP32's. .

That's what I thought as well, but I couldn't find anything online to back it up, so I kinda glossed over it. . .

First Draft Of A Gp2x Presentation For Linux Users

Nope, this is my planned script ;) However, I hope to put the entire presentation, including the text of the speech, online so that anybody else who wants to do a presentation has a starting point, so I'll try & format it so that it all makes sense. . .

First Draft Of A Gp2x Presentation For Linux Users

Regrettably, the bold & italic fonts I'd used to add emphasis to this draft in my word processor didn't come across into the post. It should read: I suspect that the main reason for the less-than-stellar first edition was down to the fact that the Gp2X isn't the successor to the GP32, it's just...

First Draft Of A Gp2x Presentation For Linux Users

Ah yes, it appears that the source for firmware 1.4 and 2.0 are both available from the svn.gp2x.com site, along with the mplayer source, so that presumably puts them in full current compliance. Ta!

First Draft Of A Gp2x Presentation For Linux Users

That's a good point. I believe they've now released all the source code for at least the 1.4 version of the firmware - is this right? How are they doing for compliance with 2.0?
