The last tower defense game I played was gemcraft. It's pretty well coded and doesn't slow down on later levels. Tower defense games generally just have to many bullets/missles/arrows flying around on screen in later levels. Try "The Last Stand 2" as well, it's zombie survival defense.

Why is it that I have a great gaming PC at home, one at work they don't mind me playing games on (within reason) and I'm super excited about a 4 inch handheld that does the same thing? Do I need to be able to play games at all times? Like when I'm driving to work? Do I really need access to...

I agree with you, but it's probably not going to happen on launch. The hardware guys probably have their hands full. Cool thing about this being an open device is that anyone* can do it. I'd just suggest that if anyone does do it and in open source it'd be cool sometime down the road integrate...

    Flash Gaming

Sorry I should have said within 800x480, most flash games are designed to run within a browser so they use less screen real estate than regular games, which is a nice thing when you're looking for games that will run on a small screen. Flash games also don't make use of right click so it's...

Well I don't consider a video player to be in a legal gray area, neither is an emulator really. But I couldn't hand this thing to my parents* and have them use it as a video player without them doing something "gray". Unless they are home movie buffs there's really no way to get video on...

I suppose I'm saying it'll be an underground thing and that's fine, but that it has potential to appeal to casual people too and that's not a bad thing is it?

Well for example, and I'm not saying this is the case. If someone was playing ripped DVDs or say television shows without commercials. I'd consider both "okay" depending on circumstance, being if you own those DVDs, or whatnot, but there are large corporations with many more resources than the...

My main uses for the Pandora are as follows: 1) A portable video player 2) Playing emulated games 3) Playing Flash games 4) A web browser It occurs to me that points 1 and 2 are in legal gray areas. And as such it precarious to market the Pandora for those. It also occurs to me that flash...

Tell Us More About The Gui

I suggest the gui is not to include too many options, at least not for novice users. Just figure out what most people are going to want to do with the thing and the best way to do it. Nothing kills a gui like having 5 ways to do the same thing. But honestly the interface to the emulators is...

    Production Of Pandora

So is the main hold up the OMAP3530 chips? It looks like TI is shipping these but only in very small quantities. OMAP3530 Inventory Looks like there are only 170 available. Probably engineering samples. I'm guessing we need to see "3000" before the first run of the pandora can be built.

True that. Using "standard" parts has a lot of advantages. Imagine what would happen if they didn't stop making those custom nubs until just after the first batch of Pandoras hit the streets.

    Analog Nubs - Poll

I'd rather have 2mm nubs without no push buttons then those with. The few games I've played where you used the analog sticks as buttons were just annoying. The buttons end up getting pressed all the time by accident. The only time it works is when the functions they control don't do anything...
