I've heard back from Jacquelyn at Pandora sales. They are saying that reorders will be at the same price as the refund.
I trust this and don't think anyone there is trying to rip me off in any way. I will say the preorder process could have been a lot smoother, and I get the feeling Craig and...
Well... If you want to go into it...
Craig and Co issued a forced refund. I didn't ask for that. If I had asked for the refund it would have been marginally reasonable to do the currency exchange.
They did this because they wanted to move money around. I'm guessing the money was in some sort...
Yod4z:
"can we know the version used in the production for the Pandora? I have see that TI add more possible memory on the engineering sample 3.0 (256MB)"
Squidge:
"Production Pandora isn't using an ES device, and secondly the 128MB RAM is set in stone, so no point discussing it any more."...
It really depends how portable the code is. Sure this is not Flash for Pandora, but it bodes very well for that in the future. If we see the OMAP in more mainstream devices like media players and mids we'll see it on Pandora.
A few months ago I tried about a dozen shareware/freeware encoders trying to find one that synced correctly. At the time I was using MagicDVD ripper which synced perfectly but didn't have options to crop 2.35 to 16:9. The two that worked well were Handbrake which is free and DVDFab which is $30...
I have a bit of game development experience (checkout my web page) and I've been thinking of doing a rogue-like game for the Pandora. I probably wouldn't just port something like nethack, but I wouldn't do anything too fancy either.
I'm not really keen on the idea of using ascii art so I'm...
With the 2pm (UK time) launch. I'm a little concerned about it hitting Digg, Engadget and Gizmodo and being sold out to a bunch of folks who don't know what they are getting, ebay scalpers, etc...
It'd be nice if the preorders started late enough in the day so that all the UK/Europe people...
I see the 3d hardware on the Pandora as one of it's biggest selling points, but I'm concerned that I haven't seen demos of apps that use it. The PlayStation emulator is software only as was the Quake 2 demo(which showed big time). Is anyone working on apps that use that hardware?
Are there...
I've been interested in the Pandora but I'm not interested in it as a game machine and was wondering if it could be modified for pimping.
With almost no work the gaming controls could be replaced with pimp-tastic action gold plated 8-balls and diamond studded mac-daddies.
Really it should be...
About 14 years ago I had a summer job assembling medical PDAs. One day I was assigned stress testing the touch panel which meant scribbling on it for a day. It would have been a boring job if there hadn't been another tester (also I quickly learned to switch hands).
Anyway I was wondering what...
Having a stand alone flash player would help. I find about 2/3 of flash games can be played in off line mode and most of those look fine at 800x480. Seems unlikely that flash will run fast, it's cpu intensive.
There was a big flash topic a while back...
I've seen this used on TNTHD (A US cable channel) to go from NTSC to HD. It looks okay until the shot moves then it looks really weird/fisheye. I hate it but as long it's an option you can turn off it'd be cool.
