There has been talk recently that the Wiz from ThinkGeek have emulation problems due to a hardware defect. I just purchased a Caanoo from them on Sunday. I'd return it and get a Caanoo simply because it's the newer product and I'd say Wiz is EOL. You can also use this coupon code that I used...
I don't think this would be a very good idea. There really wouldn't be any point because there would be no chance of competetive play on it, and the interface would just be too small on a hand held to really be playable. It's one of those "Look my hand held can run Starcraft" things, but...
I haven't received my Caanoo yet (should be here tomorrow/wed) but I've been looking forward to playing Cave Story and I'm wondering if there is a version ported to Caanoo yet, or if the Wiz version works with Caanoo.

I decided on the Caanoo because battery life is very important to me in the long term. This will hopefully be my nostalgia machine for the next few years and I want it to last.
An important fact is that not all chips are created equal. Some may go above 800, others will struggle with anything past stock. There's really only one way to find out, and that's by trial and error.
I've been looking at both consoles and I'm debating on which I should choose.
The Wiz is $50 cheaper and a tried and true workhorse, but the Caanoo looks promising and is much more sleek and professional looking. I'm just wondering what the benefits of the Caanoo are besides the larger...
